This is one of the small percentage of films that passes muster in 2022. It has been rather depressing to pan so many films (over 85%) released during this year. Fortunately, this film is not one of those. First of all, I must admit I am a sucker for baseball movies, but not all of them. The dreadful "Babe Ruth Story" starring William Bendix was a prime example of an extremely corny film. Field of Dreams=good corny, The Babe Ruth Story=bad corny. This film, despite its religious content, succeeds in capturing the audience. The plot is interesting and has real-life implications. It is not easy to make a living in baseball if you are not a talented player in the major leagues. But some can succeed in being happy in life and having a nice career in it as well. Good viewing.

Not really. But holy cow, ugh. Nothing made even a lick of sense. Even the main plot point of the movie is completely nonsensical. The main character's "public religious display" is not even religious. It's just running around bases. And yet he gets arrested and put in jail for it, because that's what the plot calls for. Impossible to suspend your disbelief, just terrible. Terrible acting, particularly from the wife character. Completely cliched and predictable characters and plot points. Confused morals. Aren't ostentatious displays of piousness preached against in the gospel anyways? And yet that's all this movie wants to celebrate. Very embarrassing to sit through, as a Christian. Can't understand how low most people's standards are to be giving it 10s. Should have listened to Ace_of_Sevens.

One of the best Christian Movies. We are here to do God's will not our own when we submit to him he will use us as a vessel to accomplish his plans. Many of the commentors don't understand this. They claim to be Christian but they grew up with a false Gospel. The other commentors hate God much like the villain in this movie. This movie It's a great example of how God's will It is manifested when we submit to him. We live for God's glory not our own. People want God to be in their life and fulfill their plans And dreams. When they need to be Dedicating their life to God's plan and his will.....

Was all set to see another standard Hollywood violent action movie but switched to 'Running the Bases' in hopes of seeing something different, something with more heart in it. Great decision! Well acted, drama, humor, true to life story, realistic high school baseball, excellent cinematography, and, yes, realistic portrayal of people dealing with very hard life challenges, making them question God. Highly recommend this movie, especially if you played in high school sports (I played Little League), but it's a really great movie whether you played sports or not. The story highlights interactions between coaches and players, players and players, and parents and children. Your heart will be moved.

This movie was awesome! Finally a feel good (actual) family movie. Saw it twice and buying it when it comes out. I didn't have to worry about my kids watching it at all, unlike 99% of the movies coming out now. So much crap coming out of the movie industry, this is a breath of fresh air. Acting was good, storyline was great and the message was outstanding! If we had more movies like this coming out of Hollywood our world wouldn't be so messed up. If you haven't seen it I would highly recommend it and if you like it make sure to share it and support this kind of entertainment. Everyone complains about what this industry is trying to do to our kids, and rightfully so, then you ought to support this kind of film.

EVERYONE. This movie is STUNNING. Even better than I had imagined it to be. Everything from the acting to the message, to all parts in between were STUNNING. This was one of the FEW movies that actually made me cry at SEVERAL pints in the movie. I HIGHLY suggest bringing those who maybe have NEVER heard the Gospel to this movie, it MIGHT just spark a conversation that changes their eternal destiny. DO see it, support it, bring friends, family, coworkers, anyone else you can think of. This movie DESERVES to be seen. It is an EASY A+ in my book. WONDERFUL job Up2You films, you did a STUNNING job with a VERY timely film.

My baseball-loving 12-year-old son and I drove 45 minutes to the next state over to watch this movie, and I'm so glad we did! It was absolutely incredible. I don't think there was any foul language at all. There were a couple of suspenseful scenes, but they were very tastefully handled, as they were crucial to the storyline. I appreciated everything about this movie. The characters were well-thought out, and the storyline kept you interested all throughout. I can only hope and pray there are more movies like this one being produced in the future, because we need them now more than ever. Great movie!

This movie honestly is one of the best films I have seen this year! It has something for everyone and keeps your attention from beginning to end. The story was excellent and the characters were realistic with heart that draws you in. Acting was A+ and casting was perfect across the board. One way I know a movie is exceptional is if it can make me cry... I cried! This movie was not only entertaining but it masterfully wove real life principles of faith, courage, forgiveness, redemption, and hope throughout. It also has some twists, turns, and surprises too. This film shines and is a must see for all!!

This was a well-produced faith-based film, with great actors! Excellent life lessons about living out your faith and following God's call for your life. You don't have to love sports to understand what's happening in the movie. For people who are tired of violent movies, here is a movie you can enjoy with your family, whatever the age of your children. Would love to see more of these type movies in major theaters! Coaches should take their teams to see how this team learns to work together. A great lesson about trusting God to provide. A great reminder that God works all things out for our good.

I was honestly impressed with and surprised by this movie! I knew going in that as a Christian movie, there might be aspect technically that weren't comparable to the recent blockbusters of the secular box office but the cinematography was beautiful and I enjoyed seeing the variety of shots and seamlessly editing. I loved the incorporation of the soundtrack and how it played on the audience's heartstrings. The story itself was so heart-wrenching. Bring you tissues because there were so twists even I didn't see coming that left me with my jaw on the floor. I was so engaged in this film and had such a fun time watching it. Bring your whole family to this clean film that proclaims the good news of the Hope we have in Jesus Christ. It's witty, wholehearted and winsome! To everyone involved in this project...Great Job of standing up for your faith even when the world didn't approve! I plan to go see it again and take my family!

Faith based but well produced acted and filmed movie. It's a good movie with sweet wholesome values throughout. Take any age friend or family member to this show. What a gripping story and well presents grace based Christianity. The setting is midwestern but could be anywhere in the US not cheesy or boring like some baseball movies. You need not even understand baseball to like it! The music and memorable lines give this movie body. Film work is exciting and fun to watch. Come see Running the Bases quick! Short run. Gotta get out right away before this one is going going gone! Get some popcorn and peanuts to the show! You may feel like you are at a few baseball games!

You would have to dislike God not to love the powerful and inspiring story. It is about redemption and love wrapped up all in one. When a critic starts out with I am a Christian, but I would be an atheist run. As this film isn't your regular Hallmark-looking film. It will make you laugh out loud and cry all at the same time. If this film doesn't, you think about the way you live life and what you bring to the table to inspire others not sure what to tell you. As one film critic rated this movie said best faith-based film in the last five years, and I would have to agree. Not based on a true story it sure could be.

I highly, highly recommend this great family movie. Gives moral value to sports, which is what drew me to the movie. Displays encouraging character values not only for the young men, but us as adults as well. Brett Varvel has been developing as a actor in leaps and bounds since I caught him in other Christian films. Along with being a writer, director and actor, he has gone on to create his own production company, House of Grace Studios. This movie really put him on my radar. This cast and crew have put together a truly great, heartwarming film. Have watched it numerous times and it has hit me between the eyes every time. Do yourself a favor, sit down and watch this movie. It is also available on Pureflix.

A great movie the whole family can enjoy !As a Christian and a baseball fan I found this movie to be entertaining !The actors are not your big name movie stars but do a great job ! Yes this is a Christian film and I do not think it is going to make any non Christian in to believers. Many non Christian may think there is no way something like this could happen with someone wanting to pray on the field but if you look at the news you will see that stuff like this does happen more than you think .That being said ,this is a movie that you and your whole family can sit down and pop some popcorn and enjoy !

If you need to feel inspired today, watch 'Running the Bases'. This is not a movie about baseball, although almost every scene happens on the ball field. Baseball is just the backdrop, but the main theme is about courage and faith. Yes, it's a religious theme, but more about how it feels than how it works.

This story is as emotionally driven as any faith based movie I've ever seen. You will be unable to hold back the tears if you are willing to let yourself go with the provocative message and the music. But if you wish to reserve your emotions for something not so "preachy" or wholesome, go right ahead and wait for that bigger and better action movie, or sci-fi, fantasy, or whatever floats your boat. But for me, I need some real inspiration sometimes.

This is one of, if not THE best Christian movie I've ever seen. Sure it's got that whole over-dramatization aspect with the inflated spiritual message and the love bombing, do-gooder theme. Nevertheless, it impacted me at the core of my being.

Based on the reviews I've seen, you will either love it or leave it. Do try to love it. Open yourself up to the possibilities that in many ways this narrative might change your perspective.
