Like most episodes this one is fine, however one thing that bothered me was when Danny did the classic "bad cop" routine in the interview room and actually threatened the guy/threw him around making all kinds of noise that should've easily gotten him in trouble (including getting the case thrown out). The show always seemed to make a big deal about cops, particularly anyone in the Reagan family, going by the book or at least walking the line, not full on going over it like Danny did (which got him in trouble in the very first episode of the show). The writers should have come up with a clever way to get to that girl without compromising their usual stance on police conduct.

Nicely sentimental

I must have been in the right mood, but this segment of the Tom Selleck series manages to wrap up each of the key subplots with plenty of sentimentality. It's a far cry from rough and gritty cop shows, and the better for it.
Of course, the police point-of-view is presented, especially in the happy resolution of a disciplinary hearing for a couple of our folks in blue for initiating a high-speed car chase that ends badly. Selleck's son makes a fine speech in court asking as his own defense counsel, and even the guy who complained against them ends up apologizing and praising the police's function.
A nice treat is a cameo appearance by the late Mayor David Dinkins, who is remembered fondly. The man who beat him in their second election contest, Giuliani, will be remembered in the Benedict Arnold/Donald Trump column.
