The family's home is a set. Interior scenes were filmed in a disused factory in Southall, Ealing, West London, where the multi-storey set was built.
On Monday, 18th May 2020 Sky Television and FX announced that they have commissioned a second series of the sitcom from Avalon Television. Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic there are no further details at present. Co-creator Martin Freeman commented: "So pleased we get another go at Breeders. I reckon the next one will be even better. It's such a pleasure working with this team... we'll see you all soon. Well, not soon. But at some point, honest."
On Tuesday, 19th July 2022, Sky Television announced that in association with FX they have commissioned Avalon and FX Productions to produce a 10-episode fourth series of the successful comedy. Series 4 is expected to be filmed and released in 2023.
