I'm usually great at predicting the stories early on to where they are going. I guessed wrong every time in this movie. Think most will find this a refreshing & thought-provoking movie. It is what I would call a light-hearted drama. Uncomplicated. But I did cry during it.
As in many smaller budget Japanese films, there is not an overabundance of characters. The main focus is on Yuki but we get to know and understand Daiki and Hatsue quite well. It is less about the relationship between them. More about each and their own story to tell. I could understand each of them, which made me enjoy this movie even more. The more we understand each character (sorry, providing more details would be a spoiler) the more we feel for them.
The acting is well performed. The movie flows without feeling fragmented into separate scenes. I highly recommend watching!
