All or Nothing: The Michigan Wolverines (2018)

Episode 1: Faith, Family, Football

ALL OR NOTHING: THE MICHIGAN WOLVERINES was an eight-episode special produced by Amazon and streamed on their services. The documentary follows Jim Harbaugh as he leads the Wolverines through the 2017 season where a championship is the goal.

The first episode kicks off with a brief introduction of Harbaugh's career in college, the NFL and then his coaching ranks. From here we travel with the coach and team as they visit Rome and then it's back to college where we're introduced to some of the players as they get used to their new surroundings. From here the team has to get prepared for their first game against Florida.

This first episode will certainly appeal to Michigan fans who want a behind-the-scenes look at the team. For me, I thought the episode was very entertaining and especially with it giving us access to things that we normally can't see. Getting to see the kids getting used to their dorms was fascinating as was the meetings where one coach goes off with player's falling asleep.

The highlight of the episode was the all access look at the Florida game where cameras are on the sidelines, which means that audio is also being recorded. I thought getting to hear what the players and coaches were saying was the most interesting aspect of this episode and it ends on a good cliffhanger.

Episode: B+
