Hitchhikers guide to armageddon!

I loved the book and like the British, droll, gentle charm. I think this is a better realized adaption than any of the Discworlds I've seen. Wonderful cast, cgi and production values make this special. If you can get into this sensibility you'll rewatch it 'cause this is that unique.

Having never read the book
oscarspicks7 June 2019
I came onto this cold, having never read the book, but I was pleasantly surprised at how entertaining the whole series was, There were points in the 5th and 6the episodes that slightly dragged, but overall it was very entertaining and typically English droll! Highly recommended!

As a lover of the book, I am completely satisfied and happy with this ending. It was great and the series is a wonderful tribute to Terry Pratchett. I know he would appreciate

A satisfactory ending
ganymedes198526 June 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The culmination of this miniseries does not disappoint one bit. Four horsemen find themselves confronted by a generation of new hopes and ideals, mischief isn't necessarily an act of evil, and some of the last prophecies made will provide a life-saving tip, if they can pull of the deception of their (very long) lifetime.

Good Omens

Love this show, very clever. And the one truth to always remember, four smart children with bicycles and a dog can solve any problem on earth... Will the series be continued? I hope so!

Good Omens, Good People
GusherPop2 August 2023
Good Omens is a television series that explores the concept of choosing one's identity, regardless of the world's expectations. The show's finale is a free will extravaganza, with characters such as Adam, Them, Anathema, Madame Tracy, Crowley, and Aziraphale choosing different endings. The finale highlights the power of choice and the human ability to choose between angelic and demonic beings. The story highlights the importance of choosing one's own identity and the power of reality-altering powers to shape our lives. The show's message is that we can choose who we are, regardless of our worldly expectations. The centuries-long love story between Crowley and Aziraphale is Good Omens' greatest treasure. The original ending is extended with a bonus caper, where they avoid their executions using a magic trick. Crowley and Aziraphale exchange bodies in preparation for their inevitable punishments, with Aziraphale-as-Crowley walking past his Bentley and hailing a cab instead of driving. The clever addition of a strawberry ice lolly and a vanilla with a flake adds a new dimension to the story. In Good Omens, Crowley is on trial in Hell for his crimes and sentenced to death. Before his arrival at the airbase, Adam and his friends rush to stop him. Aziraphale prepares to shoot the Antichrist, but Tracey intervenes. Adam and his friends decide to return to normalcy, but Adam's friends intellectually challenge them, defeating their physical prowese with wishes. Anathema's engineering prevents the nuclear launches, showcasing the power of friendship and ingenuity in the endgame. Gabriel and Lord Beelzebub from Heaven and Hell instruct Adam to re-launch the Apocalypse, but Adam refuses. Aziraphale questions if the plan is the Great Plan or the Ineffable Plan, unsure of God's ultimate plans. They reveal the truth to Satan, the Antichrist's father. Aziraphale, Crowley, and Adam are taken to a desert plain where they advise Adam to change the world for the better. After receiving wisdom, they are dropped back on Earth, where Adam rejects Satan. Unable to contain his anger, Adam reverts to his real Father, denying his presence and causing him to fade from existence. Adam changes the world, rewriting the past and present, and is grounded by his real parents. In Good Omens, Crowley and Aziraphale are sent to hellfire and holy water for their treachery in the park. They are sentenced to the worst death for their treachery, but they emerge unscathed and seemingly transcend beyond their forms. They return to Earth and wait until no one is watching before switching back to their original forms. The episode and series end with Adam chasing after his friends, waving at Anathema who burns the last prophecies. Despite the slightly anticlimactic ending, Good Omens delivers a well-written finale that resolves all loose ends and resolves them in a satisfying manner. Although Anathema's story is weak, the rest of the plot lines maintain a consistent pace throughout the runtime. Amazon's Original series also delivers a thoroughly enjoyable six-episode run, showcasing the series' great work and satisfying ending.

Twists and turns and nightingales - love this!

Warning: Spoilers
The switching of bodies to escape their impending doom. I had to watch a few times, but seeing Aziraphale-as-Crowley walking past the Bentley and hailing a cab was what made me go, "ah-ha!" Michael Sheen was excellent switching back and forth between angel and demon all while in the angel's body. Fantastic. David Tennant also created an entirely new physical form of acting for this role, and I'm always here for it. He's unmatchable. Adam's friends, The Them, intellectually challenge the four horsemen of the apocalypse was brilliant to watch. I also love Miranda Richardson as Madame Tracy, she's a delight. Overall, wow. A great bridge to Season 2!

Unpredictable, but in a bad way
aarongnr13 June 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The ending was unpredictable, but not in a good way. At the end you just stare at the screen wondering what nonsense you've just witnessed.

Basically you follow these 2 characters, an Angel and a Demon through 5 episodes of (not really funny all) comedy and in the end they basically have done nothing to help stop the apocalypse.

I'll give it a 6 because I think it deserves it for it's good production value, but if I only judged it by how much I enjoyed it I'd give it a 4 at best.

A disappointing end to a decent series

Warning: Spoilers
Okay.... I am writing this in the midst of ending the finale. I am just outraged by the way the four horsemen were demolished was ridiculous, and even the Satan himself. Don't care about the book but the ending in my humble opinion was really bad and felt rushed. A disappointing end to a rather good mini-series. I rated this series an 8 but I am only reviewing this episode and giving it a 3/10 and even with that I think I am being generous.

Fizzles Out
injury-654477 July 2020
The concluding episode is the worst of the bunch. By the midpoint I just wanted it to be over. They just kept dragging it out and out and out.

I'm overall really disappointed with how this series was concluded. The whole thing felt like a chore for the actors involved. I didn't feel any kind of passion or emotion coming through. I have to ask, what was the point of making this? The book is clearly superior.
