- An enslaved man is lynched by a mob of white supremacists. He is already dead when it occurs. They hang his dead body from a tree in front of the cheering mob. The scene is very disturbing.
- An enslaved man is tortured in a horrifying and graphic scene where he is strung up by a hook impaled through his abdomen. Surgical scenes, with lots of blood, follow.

- A doctor very reluctantly euthanizes a patient, against the patient's knowledge, by giving him a drink laced with poison.
