The most emotional episode so far.
denissavic7 May 2018
Warning: Spoilers
So I've been watching the show ever since it came out. We had some emotional episodes here and there and the latest few have made me feel upset with Lucifer because he didn't want to confess the feelings he had for Chloe.

With that being said, I can't even comprehend how heartbreaking this episode was. It's been 5 minutes since it ended and I'm still here sobbing. Charlotte's death made me feel absolutely devestated and then Amenadiel gets his wings and everything just becomes more emotional. Prior to those events, Lucifer finally confessing his true feelings was what started the emotional ending.

I rarely give a 10 stars review for any thing on IMDB, but man!! this one exceeded all levels
Aktham_Tashtush8 May 2018
The series since its return after Christmas break,, after they left us with the chaos of the Sinnerman ,, was building up to this moment ,, i mean let alone the last 3 episodes were literally explosive with heightened levels of emotions and tension .. from engagement to un-engagement to this !!

This level, honestly is a finale style level,, yes things went well for some, and bad for some ,, but we can only imagine how next week's will be like !!! are we going to finally see Chloe and Lucifer "really" together or is it gonna be as short as her engagement to Pierce !!! are they going to find out about Pierce !!

Oh gosh !! next week already feels like a year from now.

What a great turnover

Warning: Spoilers
In this episode, crime investigation actually becomes background to a much deeper turn of events. While Lucifer and Chloe deal with their true feelings about each other and how to admit it, Amenadiel and Charlotte are concerned about saving their souls. However, during the last minutes, something really sad and unexpected happens...which actually saves both Charlotte and Amenadiel, in a non planned way. Heartbreaking and well written that was, by far, the best episode in this season. Hope they don't drop the ball now!

The "Saviour" of a Season.
alexkarofil9 May 2018
On my review for the series, I stated how Season 3 should be consider a shameful one. With that mindset I entered episode 23 and I assume all viewers around the globe did too. But, finally and thankfully, our expectations were wrong. 'Quintessential Deckerstar' was the first aid this season needed. A true masterpiece, for my perspective, as to what drama brings when celestial beings and humans are mixed. This episode was a deliver. Tom Elis being an amazing actor and once again an award-like performance, but this time the rest of the casting was also exceptional. The only let down for me was that I trully desire more celestial scenes, more superpowers, more effects. Come on, it's 2018!

Hope for greater episodes to come. Well done.

The second best episode of the show so far!
tztiagozadra-0130118 June 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was just amazing. Acting was great, it had a very emotional ending and it was a very ballsy thing to do. The episode was already good from the start because it added a cool element to the crime solving aspect of the episode and it gave more character development to Charlotte so that when she dies you're connected to her and you might start to cry while watching her death. Amenadiel was also a great aspect of the episode acting like one of us, one of the viewers as he was starting to grow closer to Charlotte and then seeing her die, he was crying and then his wings appear, he then decides to bring Charlotte with him to the Silver City. Another thing that was interesting in this episode was Amenadiel's theory about us being the responsible ones and that we shouldn't blame God about everything that's happened to us or others. In the end, this episode was amazing, acting, writing and directing of this episode was just amazing. It gets a well deserved 10/10

Oaw, what a treat! Tom Ellis, just gorgeous! And Charlotte, the nicest and saddest story of all! Season finale should be great. I hope the writers will keep it right! And will kill Cain... he is just bad! And bring in Season 4!!!!!!

Wring changes that matter
silver_strike8 May 2018
This show, that was excellent in its first season, seemed to go downhill fast during its second season and even more so in the current season. The reason for it seems to be the creation of an overarching plot, the emphasis on drama, and many elements that don't actually go anywhere story wise and function as a padding for the production team to create the 20+ episodes each season.

This episode was different. Not because those elements didn't exist, but because they were used sparingly and intelligently - rather than reaching the end of the episode where every character development is having a soft reset so nothing of substance is changed. It was refreshing and interesting.

What made this story good is that the decisions of the characters and the plot had consequences that will reflect in the next episode and the next season. The story had a point other than to push a figurative chess piece to its next position toward the finale (although that too existed) and the characters could have their development that goes beyond how the overarching plot ends.

If the writing team continue with this approach, the next season might be a bit more interesting and something I'll wait for each week. Only time will tell.

Overrated episode
alvinho-andry15 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
After Chloe ended her relationship with Pierce, seems nothing meaningful lesson both Chloe and Luci to learn. They character still nearly same with before, Luci still like that in the early episode. Only last episode and single moment they reunited. Just single moment & so easy.

Finally!!
revilo-strebor8 May 2018
Since last season I've been more or less forcing myself to watch this show, constantly reminding myself how great it was back in season one, but it just kept getting worse and worse. I was so confused as to how a intriguing show with many complex underlying themes about love, destiny, god, etc etc.., could turn into this godawful sappy love/cop show with crappy one liners. All the good music was gone, all the quality piano scenes, the clever devil and hell references. To sum up, it felt like the entire writing team had been swapped and replaced by the people behind shows like the big bang theory. Yet finally after so many episodes it all went back to normal. This was easily one of the best episodes ever, up there with "a priest walks into a bar". Here's to hoping they can keep this going and work on the trashy filler episodes, because the season finales have actually always been very good, it just seems like they actually only have a few episodes of good content per season.

Finally Moving Forward
ecatalan9811 May 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Although the episode started just like all the others (a murder scene, a suspect and subsequent investigation), it's really the ending that elevated it to a "great" status. We finally get to hear Chloe open up about Lucifer to Ella and finally Lucifer realizing all his previous mistakes with the detective. We also see some advancemente in Dan and Charlotte's relationship and even Maze showing some remorse/regret when she is on an important errand to take her back to hell. The only thing that was decidedly odd about this episode was Marcus Pierce's sudden turn as a baddie. It was stablished in previous episodes that, despite being a biblical baddie, Pierce had some redeeming qualities thus proving that he isn't all that bad. All that was flushed down the drain in this episode in what I think was a cheap ploy to establish him again as the show's main antagonist. Although I don't ike Pierce that much, this sudden change in character seemed to me like a rushed effort to secure a baddie in the show.

Other than that, the final minutes of "Quintessential Deckerstar" are what elevated this episode to essential classic status. If you're already a fan of the show, it will likely tie a knot in your throat or will make you shed a tear. Let's hope this advancement in the storyline is capitalized by the show's screenwriters so we can have an incredible seaseon four!

Thank the Lord, Lucifer is Back!
GraXXoR10 February 2019
This show rapidly gained a solid following in the first season for it's quirky blend of drama, stylishly slick production, suspense and comedy all underpinned by the protagonists' relationship and bolstered by the theme of redemption for the eponymous Devil.

Unfortunately Season 3 seemed to depart from that with some rather mediocre episodes which went downhill rapidly after the onset of the James T Kirk rehash, too good to be true detective.

I'll be honest, I skipped over the last three episodes almost in their entirety, taking 30 minutes to realise that I no longer recognised what I was watching and finding the forced humour, ridiculously pathetic character development and oddly childish and purile behavior of the whole cast wincingly, embarrassingly bad, even though I watched them alone.

I honestly have no idea what they were thinking, but after a few weeks break, I decided to tackle the last two episodes of this season with some trepidation.

It turns out no trepids were required. This show delivered the emotional content that half of the eps of this season have lacked and pushes the characters forward in a believable direction.

Laughs were had, feels were felt and tears were shed.

Classic Lucifer, turned up to 11.

Thank the Lord, they finally got their act together.

Emotional Rollercoaster
surfintori8 May 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Throughout the episode is a very complex well written case that is soon to be solved at the end, but that is when the episode heats up. At the end of "Quintessential Deckerstar" we are met with joyful and on the other end spectrum, heartbreaking scenes that are sure to cause some tears. The loss was truly sad and heart stopping. Overall an extremely amazing well done episode. Can't wait for the second half of the finale!

Finally an episode this season that progressed the storyline, and wasn't complete trash. Hopefully they write at this level from now on because this whole season has been garbage.

Charlotte Richards was incredibly great character!
thekhpro20 July 2020
I loved this episode in a special way! Since the beginning, Charlotte Richards was portrayed perfectly. Even the actress was chosen specially. And, of course, at the end she was great at all that made the tv-series' only special episode with a sharp plot!

At last!
tor-claesson14 May 2018
At last we're getting somewhere with the show. Highly emotional episode which had be at the edge of my seat for most of it.

Some of the events with Pierece and Maze felt forced; but hopefully this means their characters will be normalized again after this. (I didn't like what they did to Maze this season. It didn't add up. And Pierece? He never addad up. I hope for a better 'bad guy' next season. And less Days of our lives-drama...)

on the way back up
francogrex10 May 2018
Yes finally this episode saves the day, thank goodness. The last few episodes were horrible. The show seems on its way up again, but it's not there yet, so if the writers are reading this, one advice: keep up the effort, don't slack your pace now. The next episode I want a 10/10, understood?

who cast Tom for this character?
shricool5118 May 2021
So now tom's character changed.

This is so stupid.

These type of characters are not suitable for tom.

People giving 9 and 10 for this stupidity.

Just stupid.

It Makes You Think about Life
khisal-544649 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was AMAZING. I mean it was raw, emotional and the ending had me wondering about life itself. When amenadiels' wings opened out as he was hold Charlotte in his arms and then flew "home" with her, I couldn't help but cry because the scene made me wonder if that's what would happen to us. Do you continue to make bad decisions in your life or do you start to change for the better? Powerful is one word to describe this episode.
