This 36-minute retrospective documentary covers a lot of interesting ground on the making of the landmark rock'n'roll movie "A Hard Day's Night." Since director Richard Lester came from a television and advertising background, he used a then innovative multiple camera set-up for filming all the music sequences. Lester also points out that the biggest problems with shooting the picture were tactical ones concerning all the screaming fans who kept showing up in droves to see the Beatles. Moreover, one camera operator tells a funny story about how his back teeth got loosened up from filming concert footage while in the middle of said screaming fans. Cinematographer Gilbert Taylor also shares an amusing anecdote about a faulty battery that acted up during the shooting of the helicopter scene. Actress Anna Quayle remembers John Lennon as a natural actor. Loaded with lots of choice behind-the-scenes footage, this doc is worth a watch for fans of the film.
