Here we have a fan-made cover of the Hugh Jackman song "This Is Me" from "The Greatest Showman", a really spectacular number that deserved all the accolades it received and I am not only saying this because I am quite a Jackman fan. So no surprise some of the people who like it as well decided to group up and give us their take on the subject. At the center of it all is Brandon Stewart as writer of the action here and also playing the central character, the only one who is not in costume. Everybody else is and they are portraying icons from the music and film industry that you will immediately recognize. So makeup and costumes here were pretty decent no denying. Dance routine is also not too bad. Sadly, I cannot really say too much positive about the audio. As for the supoorting players, and there are many, most really only have one line and some of them are decent. But Stewart at the center of it all is just not a great singer and I don't like the color of his voice either. Watched his take on ABBA's Mamma Mia today as well and admittedly the overall outcome here is better, but not because it's good but only because the ABBA cover is really bad. So yeah the awards recognition this one here received is not justified I would say, it is far more than I expected, even if some of the poeple working on this one did a good job, but really it should not have been praised outside the visual side the way it was. So overall, I give these slightly over 5 minutes from last year a thumbs-down and my suggestion is you skip this one (unless you are featured in the video) and instead go check out Hugh Jackman's version. Thumbs-down for the one we have here.
