The most ridiculous fight scene ever. A contract killer comes all the way from Italy, holds a knife to his target's throat, hesitates for a long while and ends up getting killed. A little credibility is not too much to ask for.

Predictable Finale Wraps up a Half-Decent 1st Season
asphyxion_2 December 2019
If you've been watching since the first episode, you're probably already 100% aware of how this season ends. There's nothing revelatory or twisty enough to really be considered unexpected; people die that you've been expecting to die and there's no real major plot development except for the relationship between Bumpy and the 5 families. It was a predictable but solid finale for the show's freshman season and now we'll have to wait a year before we get anymore Bumpy in our lives.
All in all, Godfather of Harlem was an addictive, binge worthy romp through '60s Harlem despite all of its hackneyed and cliched dialogue, plot twists and character development. If you're a fan of the gangster genre you'll enjoy GOH, just don't expect a flawless masterpice like The Sopranos or The Wire.

When the assassins girlfriend says she wants to see the Barbra Streisand Gil "Funny Girl". The movie didn't get released until 1968and that episode supposedly takes place around the time that JFK was assassinated in 1962.

Pointing out when Funny Girl was released exposes the idiocy of the reviewer.
JFK was killed in 1963, not 1962. This is what happens when history isn't taught in schools anymore. If it wasn't so pathetic, it would be funny. Even if you weren't born back then, November 22, 1963 is one of those indelible infamous dates in history. You can easily Google it!
Let's face it. Hollywood has played fast and loose with history for ages, and this series is no exception. At least the episode got the year right.
Gigante,in real life, attempted to kill Frank Costello (played by Paul Sorvino) in1957, so it would be strange to have those 2 guys in the same room together just a short 6 years later.
