- Captain Joseph Piller: You were expecting us?
- Han Van Meegeren: In these times, one expects anything.
- Captain Joseph Piller: You haven't asked why we're here.
- Han Van Meegeren: I find that in life, as well as art, its best not to spoil the surprise.
- Han Van Meegeren: [after tasting some low quality alcohol offeree to him by Dekker] It tastes like Satan's piss!
- Esper Dekker: [chuckles, then smells a bottle of liquid on Han's table] What's this? It smells drinkable.
- Han Van Meegeren: That's my strongest paint stripper. Why don't you try it? It will give you a second asshole.
- Captain Joseph Piller: [to Han] What did you do during the war?
- Han Van Meegeren: I did what everyone did, anything I could to survive.
- Esper Dekker: Running out of champagne must have been devastating.
- Han Van Meegeren: Not as bad as running out of caviar.
- Captain Joseph Piller: This is yor chance at redemption, and more importantly, survival.
- Han Van Meegeren: And yet I am sensing that it is perhaps you that needs redemption.
- Alex De Klerks: [referring to the painting he and Captain Piller are admiring] It teaches one forgiveness.
- Captain Joseph Piller: [shows a photo to Han] Who's who?
- Han Van Meegeren: Ah, yes! This was New Years Eve, two years ago. In the centre is me, to the left is my soon-to-be ex-wife, to the right is Cootje, the rest are just friends of friends.
- Captain Joseph Piller: Who's he?
- Han Van Meegeren: I don't know. Look at his face, and that criminal haircut. I wouldn't let that creep shake my hand.
- Captain Joseph Piller: Do you remember not shaking his hand?
- Han Van Meegeren: Your co-worker painted that.
- Captain Joseph Piller: It's awful.
- Han Van Meegeren: And yet you cannot take your eyes off it.
- Captain Joseph Piller: I have absolutely no problem taking my eyes off it.
- [turns and walks away]
