Charles Victor Thompson, sentenced for killing his ex partner, Dennise Hayslip, but there's a twist, after shooting her, she died of medical complications in a hospital.
This confused me, you would think the circumstances here would be such that they'd keep lawyers tied up for months, but ultimately Dennise died at the hands of Charles.
Charles comes across as a real charmer, the kind of guy you'd meet out, and think, what a nice guy, but he's way deeper and more interesting than that, he shows no emotion throughout, he's fixed, emotionless and almost robotic, his behaviour seems incredibly narcissistic. The guy doesn't blink. He's making the case that he was the wronged lover, discovering Dennise in bed with another man, I thought they'd separated.
Was Thompson convicted on a technicality, because of a hospital cover up? Ultimately she wouldn't have been in hospital, had he not shot her.
As in the previous episode, the last case, you hold a gun, it signals intent.
Fascinating, 8/10.
