Before Bob goes into the caves, he plants his improvised butterfly catcher above the bank of a gully, whereupon it falls several feet down the bank. When he comes back to the gully, the catcher is further up the bank from where it fell.
Bob's map shows Wright Meadow directly across the road from Lower Lewis River Falls. It is actually more than 4 miles northwest of the falls.
