A cruise through a family meltdown
JCinHB22 February 2021
A solid 6-6.5. Don't listen to people claiming a 10, there is no such thing as a perfect movie. They must have worked on the movie or had family/friends that did. I start my ratings at a 5 and go up/down from there.

A thought provoking movie while a family falls apart over a weekend. No special effects, nothing exploding.... just a basic story of a family with their ups and downs trying to make it through life.

Wanna do a little soul searching and thinking, this is a great movie for that.

Was desperate to watch something

Warning: Spoilers
I did not enjoy the movie. The acting was bland. There were about 2 laughs in this "comedy." (Spoilers) Middle aged man struggles with everything, failed relationships w/ wife, daughter, son, employer.

The worst thing for me was the language. I am a weird person who does not mind typical F bombs or $h1t, but replacing those with J_s and G-d is actually offensive to me and makes me want to stab my ears.

So the movie just ended as I am typing this... man quits his job and splits with his wife and everyone is happy. His growth was that he worked through these failed relationships by leaving them. Haha!

Well, maybe you will like it. I didn't.

Well Done and hits all the feels

I didn't have any expectations going in but came away Shocked at the range of emotions this film brought on. Excellent story and well written, real dialogue throughout, enhances the performances of a mostly unknown cast. The aforementioned emotions were laughter and sadness and everything in between. Very well done.

A great, well created film

Really enjoyed watching this film. It had everything from good humor, a great cast, fun scenes to watch among dark undertones &flashbacks, and a relatable look at family. Despite the loss of Frank's son due to suicide, I still found this movie to be positive and enjoyable watching the family stumble though one mess to the next. My favorite part happening in the end as Frank and Katlin share a drive--a heartwarming moment between father and daughter..

King of Knives is a refreshingly real take on family. The film has a great mix of subtle and direct messages and makes the character super relatable. Gene Pope and Roxi's chemistry made the movie and I enjoyed every minute!
