• Johnny Lawrence : Everyone, fall in!

  [the students fall into position, with Miguel and Hawk in front] 

  Hawk : Must've been a rager, sensei.

  Miguel Diaz : Yeah, were you celebrating all weekend?

  Johnny Lawrence : Celebrating what? That my students are a bunch of pussies?

  [confused look on Miguel and Hawk's faces] 

  Johnny Lawrence : Diaz, Hawk, up front!

  [Miguel and Hawk step forward, facing the other students] 

  Johnny Lawrence : Hawk, did you attack your opponent when his back was turned?

  Hawk : Yes, sensei?

  Johnny Lawrence : Diaz, did you purposely attack your opponent's injury?

  Miguel Diaz : Yes, sensei.

  Johnny Lawrence : You think that makes you badass?

  [confused look on Miguel and Hawk's faces] 

  Johnny Lawrence : What's the matter? Too tough a question? Maybe you need some help. Miss Robinson!

  Aisha Robinson : Yes, sensei.

  Johnny Lawrence : Two cobras in the jungle. One kills the strongest lion. The other kills a crippled monkey. Which cobra do you want to be?

  Aisha Robinson : The one that kills the lion, sensei.

  Johnny Lawrence : And why is that?

  Aisha Robinson : Because it killed the stronger animal.

  Johnny Lawrence : Correct! Cobra Kai is about being badass. And the baddest badass is the one that beats his opponent when he's at his strongest.

  [facing Hawk] 

  Johnny Lawrence : Not when his back is turned.

  [facing Miguel] 

  Johnny Lawrence : Not when he's injured! Is that understood?

  [all the students reply with "Yes, sensei!"] 

  Johnny Lawrence : That means no more cheating. No more fighting dirty. From here on out, those are pussy moves. And you don't want to be pussies, do you?

  [all the students reply with "No, sensei!"] 

  Johnny Lawrence : Good. That's why I had you wear your white belts. You're starting over. Diaz, Hawk, 50 push-ups, on your knuckles. Miss Robinson, warm them up.

  Aisha Robinson : Yes, sensei.

• [Johnny hears the door open at the dojo] 

  Johnny Lawrence : Miguel?

  [Johnny sees a shadow at the front door] 

  John Kreese : Congratulations. You did what I always thought you could do. You won. Cobra Kai is back where it belongs: Back on top. Everyone closed the book on us. They thought we were done. But now they see... that the real story has only just begun.

  [Johnny approaches Kreese] 

  Johnny Lawrence : I thought you were dead.

  John Kreese : You ain't the only one, kid.

  [Kreese approaches Johnny] 

  John Kreese : I've been away a long, long time. It's good to see you.

  [Kreese offers a handshake, but Johnny slaps his hand away] 

  John Kreese : Hmph. Still got that hot temper, huh? But I like that. I like that. I bet that's why your student is now the champion. You trained him well... just like I trained you.

  [Johnny attempts to punch Kreese, but Kreese blocks him and throws him to the mat] 

  John Kreese : You forgot. I taught you everything you know.

  Johnny Lawrence : Not everything.

  [Johnny kicks Kreese in the jaw, knocking the cigar off his mouth. The cigar lands in a nearby waste basket] 

  John Kreese : Not bad, Mr. Lawrence. Not bad.

  [Johnny charges at Kreese, but Kreese steps away and shoves Johnny towards the trophy shelf. Kreese then blocks a few more punches before Johnny elbows him in the ribs. As they continue to fight, the cigar ignites the garbage in the waste basket. Kreese kicks Johnny towards a mirror] 

  John Kreese : Look... I don't wanna fight. I just want to talk.

  Johnny Lawrence : About what? How you taught me to fight dirty? How you broke my second place trophy? How you tried to kill me?

  John Kreese : I never tried to kill you.

  [Johnny gets up and tackles Kreese. They continue to fight until Johnny traps Kreese in a chokehold] 

  Johnny Lawrence : Go to hell, you son of a...

  [Johnny sees himself in the broken mirror pieces and begins to recall the night Kreese assaulted him after losing to Daniel back in 1984. He then lets go of Kreese] 

  John Kreese : Showing mercy to an old man. That's very honorable. And stupid.

  [Kreese sweeps Johnny to the mat before landing an elbow to his chest. The fire in the waste basket triggers the dojo's sprinklers and fire alarm] 

• [Johnny meets Robby at a hardware store] 

  Johnny Lawrence : How's your shoulder?

  Robby Keene : Getting better. No thanks to you.

  Johnny Lawrence : Look, I know you're pissed at me. You have a right to be. But I'm trying to change.

  Robby Keene : Sure.

  Johnny Lawrence : I don't want there to be bad blood between us.

  Robby Keene : Yeah, well, you kinda ruined that when you told Diaz to fight dirty against me.

  Johnny Lawrence : I didn't tell Miguel to fight dirty against you.

  Robby Keene : Look, I know I'm supposed to forgive you, or whatever, but right now, it's a little tough.

  Johnny Lawrence : So instead, you're gonna torture me by training with that prick?

  Robby Keene : Hey, you don't know Mr. LaRusso. He is a better man than you will ever be.

  [Robby walks away] 

• Miguel Diaz : Sensei, can I talk to you about something?

  Johnny Lawrence : [Johnny's reading newspaper article about the tournament]  What do you want?

  Miguel Diaz : What was that out there? Punishing us for winning the tournament?

  Johnny Lawrence : I'm teaching you a lesson.

  Miguel Diaz : Yeah, well, what about "No Mercy"? You taught us to win at all costs.

  Johnny Lawrence : Yeah. Well, maybe I'm still learning a bit, too.

  Miguel Diaz : I just don't understand. You had no problem with us attacking anyone else. Why take pity of Robby Keene?

  Johnny Lawrence : [Johnny gets up from his desk and looks Miguel right in the eyes]  Look, I wasn't taught the difference between mercy and honor, and I paid the price for it. If I'm extra hard on you, it's only because you have the potential to be better than I ever was. You want that, don't you?

  Miguel Diaz : Yes, Sensei.

  Johnny Lawrence : All right. Then stop whining like a little bitch and get out and finish your drills.

  [Miguel and Johnny bow respectfully]
