This twenty-seven minute interview with director Abel Ferrara has film historian Nicole Brenez leading the conversation as he talks about his film KING OF NEW YORK. Throughout the running time you get a pretty good idea of what was going on behind-the-scenes but as you'd expect, Ferrara jumps around so much that the story is pretty much all over the place. We learn about the casting, the shoot and even what the budget was but you really don't get a clear picture of everything that happened. And can you believe the film was influenced by THE TERMINATOR? If you're a fan of the director then you probably already know that his stories aren't told in a conventional way so you'll be used to how this interview goes. It's a rather deep interview for what it is and there's certainly some interesting stuff that is discussed.
