Exquisite.

This ia truly sumptuous, decadent drama. I fear those that like a more obvious espionage or crime drama, may be a little put off by the pacing of this. As always, Poliakoff delivers a deep and intense set of character studies, the plot being almost secondary.

Who would have thought the development of such a simple little device as a pager could have been so problematic? It was obvious that the heavies were MI5, but their motives still remain a little unclear.

Loved the scenes of the nuclear fallout test, wonderfully creepy and evocative.

The acting is tremendous, the little boy is showing incredible talent.

Engrossing. 9/10

Samuel Petrukhin's mystery men are MI5. They are interested in his staff locator for the armed forces.

However Samuel finds out that MI5 have been watching his family for years. There is a montage of photographs as Poliakoff pays homage to one of his previous dramas, Shooting the Past.

MI5 also want him to keep an eye on the Shaws. The order for the staff locator might depend on this cooperation.

Kathleen Shaw did attend a demonstration of the staff locator and Hannah Petrukhin guessed that the Shaws have lost a child. Their adult son disappeared one day.

There is a danger that at six parts, Poliakoff is telling his story at a leisurely pace. Despite the varied story strands it does lack urgency even if the story is told in a sumptuous manner.
