Kind of disappointing, but still would watch season 2
kagalliano10 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I loved this show, watched the whole thing in a week, but this last episode was kind of a disappointment. There were hints that Mayer was hiding something but his ending (and that very last scene) was way too far fetched and it was sad to see Jonah lose his family once again. Looking forward to season 2, though.

Interesting story

Warning: Spoilers
Pacino does and excellent job. He doesn't go over the top as he can sometimes. A good supporting cast. The main reason for writing this is the big age discrepancy error I see about the main character if he is 19 and we are in 1977. His grandmother got freedom from the camp in 1945. She couldn't have had a child until 1946. So how could star have been born on 1958?

And Tomorrow, We Begin Anew
wandernn1-81-68327431 August 2021
Offerman on his couch. Flashback? Or something else?

BL FBI was saddened that she could not be there for her mom's death. Then she is questioned by a triumvirate of old geezers. Letting her know that her case is not backed by any provable facts. Well that was to be expected, right??

Meyer is in the hospital. Guess he lived thru the bridge crash.

Travis has a good convo in jail with the BL FBI. +1 Star for Travis.

Oh nice! +1 Star for JONAH!

Jonah becomes the leader of the Hunt!!!

Okay I thought the end was pretty good. Pretty evil. But the idea that Jonah was going to become leader seemed weak. But 7/10 for this one.

The best part is not the twist or the ending but it is Travis' psychopathic behavior n sinister scheme.
Fella_shibby2 March 2020
In this episode Jonah comes face to face with The Wolf. The twist is good but ain't that surprising. Sister Harriet's full story is left ambiguous n the plot ends in Argentina where many Nazis took shelter in real life. We also have William Sadler in a tiny role.

Did NOT see that coming!

Props to David Weil for writing one of the most spectacular season finales I've ever watched! I literally could not have guessed as to what happened, and... it left me just as gutted as the characters were.

It must be really hard to write a last episode
dano1330-970-2663415 March 2020
It must be hard to write a last episode, especially when preparing for a next season. There have been many last episodes of shows in the past that weren't liked by many, or most, of its loyal viewers. For this show, I can't imagine how to 1) sum up the season and 2) set up the next one. I really enjoyed Season 1 of "Hunters" - I think it's at least as good as any other show - on any kind of platform. But I must admit that this final episode was a letdown for me, both in losing some great characters as well as losing the actors that play them. But as well-written as this season was, I don't have any doubts that Season 2 will be very good. I will be anxiously awaiting it.

Good plot, not new but original twists
arielgrv-0552413 July 2023
Al Pacino is still doing an amazing work playing this character multiple sided, you can enjoy his subtle ways of playing, he is still one of the greatest actors of all time... Logan Lerman is fine in his role and Josh Radnor is a little bit off. Greg Austin is superb as the sociopath villain here. Dylan Baker is always correct and have the right physique du role for the part.... The rest of the cast delivers well and also the plot, while is not completely original, have very interesting twists... I really enjoyed very much this particular episode. I can not wait to start and watch the second season.

Eilu v' Eilu
Prismark1011 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
So let's take a look at the casting for Hunters.

Saul Rubinek, Carol Kane, Logan Lerman, Josh Radnor. They were Offerman's Nazi hunters and the actors are Jewish.

The main exception being Al Pacino who plays Offerman. At first sight there is nothing wrong with that. I recall Robert De Niro played a Jewish gangster in Once Upon a Time in America.

It also made me think that the casting hid a significant plot twist in plain sight.

So I was not surprised that Offerman turns out to be Wolf at the end. There were hints throughout the series that Offerman may not be who he seemed.

Aside from that there was a casualness about the final episode. As if it had already run out of gas. It also had to set up the second season which has hints that it might be more comic strip.

Fin De Cycle
bmcraec11 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This was all going so well. The comic book reality trope, the kitschy 70s characters, the unbelievably maniacal villains. And then the shark jumped itself, while riding a unicycle. Ruth wouldn't recognize the psychopath that terrorized her and everyone she loved? That was a fin too far.

Just... wow!
tarascopablo16 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The general plot for this series is interesting although it has been explored many times in fiction (books, comics, movies, and tv series). To me, the great success of Hunters is not the premise per se but the way it handles it via "regular" characters that end up being part of the Hunt. Each character is carefully written and has particular traits that make them interesting and complex.

The whole season tried to induce the viewer into thinking that one of the hunters was actually working for the enemy but the revelation of the final episode was done in a very good fashion and brought a new dimension to Meyer that was unseen until that episode.

Season 2 will be interesting, for sure.

I enjoyed this series until Episode 10. No spoilers here, decide for yourself. I will not be watching a season two should they release one.

Come on... Limit the fantasy Warning: Spoilers
Trying to weave conspiracy theories in your fiction series taken too far. The protagonist finally does the right necessary thing at the end of he series, so as to set the plot and leave the door open for next series.

The goodie is the baddie and vice versa. While most of us got the hint of The shady character of Al Pacino, I don't seem to understand that the love of his life Ruth can't identify him simply from his eyes?

Convenient but lame excuses like time travel, mental disorder, psychic powers or facial plastic surgery put me off the plot when revealed as the final climactic surprise, no matter how interesting leading up to that point.

The final scene is just too far fetched.

You Had Me Hooked Until This Final Episode 0/10 Warning: Spoilers
As above, I've pretty much enjoyed this whole series, and have not taken it too seriously, as some have on here, as it's meant to be a pastiche of various people and stories from the Holocaust. For those wanting to see a "proper" programme regarding same ,I suggest that you take a look at Claude Lanzmann's Shoah, utterly harrowing, brilliant, tragic ,horrific, terrifying and REAL ,and although it's a marathon . Back to the above, final episode, I have not been so disappointed over the finale of a series since GOT, and this HAS to be the final episode, Netflix would be utterly foolish to come back with series 2 ,given the ridiculous, comedic ending, I will NOT spoil it (entirely), for anyone yet to watch it all, but when you have, come back and vent on here as I have done. Nine reasonable episodes with one series-ruining one at the end.

Poor ending.
cruise0122 April 2020
2.5 out of 5 stars.

Hunters season finale was a bit weak. From its overlong exposition. Boring script and direction. There are a few twists and turns which was dull to even care about. It does end in a cliffhanger for another season. The ending cliffhanger was the best part with a character revealing itself.

Not quite sure what the message is
patrick-lafont27 March 2020
When I started watching this show, I just thought, is Hollywood ever going to stop using the Shoah as a background for movies and series, as if it was just a story to tell and not an actual horrible thing that happened in real life.

I kept on watching because of the actors and the storytelling, but not really the story itself. There is one twist we saw coming from a few episodes away and it's like what happens to a soufflé when you open the oven too soon, it takes all the excitement away, like "ok, I'm gonna eat because I don't like to waste food".

I gave it one more star than I'd have expected because the final twist made me laugh. I just hope it's not one of those series where they put everything in the first season (cast, plot) and then try to pull a few more seasons with less budget and ideas...
