Basically, you've got a short Tom Jones concert.
I am not the target audience for this show, as I am not particularly a Tom Jones fan. I have nothing against the man...I just grew up a bit too late to be one of his adoring fans. And, in this program shown on Australian television, it's obvious that folks DID (and still do) adore him. As this Welsh singing sensation belts out song after song, it's accompanied by near-constant screams from his adoring female fans...much like when the Beatles appeared on "Ed Sullivan".
As to his singing, I was surprised that he sang so many covers of other artists' songs...and he even led off with a Wilson Pickett number. Some other artists' songs were tunes from the likes of Ray Charles, Little Richard and Chuck Berry. In other words, he was covering black American artists...and I wonder if any of them got such adoration from their fans (okay...I KNOW Chuck Berry did...not sure about the rest of them). Later, he began singing more of his songs....and I suppose he was saving the best for last, as I did enjoy those tunes more and the fans went crazy ('crazier'??). Well worth seeing if you are a fan and it's
