The last Flintstones show we got was Cave Kids all the way back in the 90s (coincidentally, that show also focused on Pebbles and Bamm Bamm). Now we have this show. In 2018 or so, there was a minor controversy that erupted in the animation community. There was a leaked animation from this show that showed Dino dabbing, worrying many people.
The final product doesn't necessarily try to be hip and cool, but it's just boring and bland. Pebbles and Bamm Bamm were unnecessary additions to the original Flintstones and turned it into a kids-only show when its supposed to be for all ages. This show certainly doesn't help their case, as they're not the generic "cool" kids who like to be smart-alecky and get in trouble. I had to do a double take to make sure I wasn't watching Johnny Test.
Also, Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm aren't voiced by kids, but by adults, which is pretty jarring. I mean, it's surreal hearing a grown man's voice coming out of Bamm Bamm.
The episode plotlines are overall, forgettable. I do, however, like the art style and animation. The art style reminds me of the special On the Rocks, and the animation calls back to the limited animation techniques that Hanna Barbera used.
All I have to say is, you're better off watching the original. It's on HBO Max!
