SHOW-CASE OF YOUNG-RAADs
SAMTHEBESTEST6 July 2018
YOUNGRAAD REVIEW :

When you hear that a Director's Last film has grabbed National Award then certainly expectations from his next automatically goes high. Makrand Mane's last outing Ringan had received immense praise from critics, juries and probably everyone who watched the film. This time Mane comes up with the story which is dedicated to Young generation in all aspects such as Love, Friendship, Family, Enemies and Career.

Youngraad is a Story of Four best friends played by Chaitanya Devre- Vikya, Saurabh Padwi- Vikya, Shiv Wagh- Monya and Jeevan Karalkar- Bappa, from Nashik who always have each other's backs be it getting into fights or setting up a friend with his dream girl played by Shirin Patil (Teju) But having a wrong idol in such impressionable years lands them into a web of troubles that drastically affects their lives and brings them to a point where everything that they thought they knew about life disappears into oblivion and forces them to embark on a journey to redefine who they are. Roughly this script seeks your attention but somehow doesn't put it up on screen with its full potential.

Talking about the pluses, with Youngraad director manages to generate that typical Rural Nasik Atmosphere on Screen. All Characters look like Villagers, they talk in Lokcal accent, the biggest thing is they don't act intentionally they perfoms naturally. Pre Interval moments have a great flow which takes you on a Journey of a Love-Story in Local Village style. Another good thing about the film is its Music which works very smoothly and helps many situational moments in the screenplay. The climax scene Song should have been more energetic to end the film on high note, let it be.

Coming up to the Minuses, Youngraad lacks the director's vision of Storytelling. Being a Makrand Mane film Youngraad should have been an Award Winning material, but sadly it ends on an Average note. Film does include some suspense and thrilling moments to enthrill, you get answers of some questions but some questions remains Unanswered. With little bit more work on Execution Youngraad would have been a Nice Film. RATING- 4/10*
