I was searching for a Islamic themed Indonesian movie and I came across this movie. Although it doesn't have the signature "hijab in X foreign country" attribute it still checks several important marks.
The movie tries to preach a lot about Islam and Islamic marriage and islamic husband character, islamic wife character, in a good fashion, but still bargains for a sub-par "sinetron" (soap opera in Indonesia) like ending.
It could have gone for the high notes by adding messages of "tawakal", a part of three strong Islamic characters to carry the main characters through the movie but didn't so. So I couldn't give more praise.
I do give a lot of credit for the two main characters (even for the supporting characters in this case) for their acting, especially for Velove Vexia who looks so drawn deep into her main Islamic woman character. The story also brings the audience to some high point emotions although like I said before did not go for the kill to end the movie with a great bang.
I appreciate the development of Indonesia's movie making. Character developments aren't as narrow as before, more three dimensional characters are introduced in each movie.
