Sex & Nudity

  • There is no sexual content in this game. Except people and allies running around in just underwear.

Violence & Gore

  • The player can kill other players resulting in small shoots of blood. The player does get currency and loot for doing this but the game also uses frequent peace beetween players by making trading, teams and other things rather than killing, but this only happens with peaceful players. Characters do explode and blood can splatter everywhere. There is an exploding enemy perk. Pvp is an option.
  • The violence is common but it is not the main object of the game like halo or call of duty. Violent moments happen and when they do occur the blood is not very graphic and looks unrealistic but can be explosive.
  • While exploring, you will frequently find skeletons, dead bodies, petrified corpses, decomposing bodies and heads on stakes with some blood left over. You may find these bodies with weapons and other things they may have died from.
  • The player will frequently explore a vast area with friends and such, but while doing this in the game, your child will be be attacked by zombie like creatures with guns. When these creatures are shot in a sertain area, there heads will fly off. Large Blood splashes and spatter will go around and leave brief stains on weapons, walls, the floor, objects and more. Also, sometimes they will come across huge, fast "ticks" that jump at you and puff up with blood after getting a hit on you. When you shoot these "ticks" While full with blood, they will explode into chunks and blood. Realize this is very unrealistic and looks so fake that not even a small child would find it disturbing for it is also so brief.
  • With the new Nuclear Winter DLC, up to 52 players can partake in a battle Royale mode to be the best Overseer. It's basically like Fortnite, but in Fallout's game engine and graphics.

Profanity

  • The profanity isn't very bad you might occasionally hear an ass, damn, hell, or maybe bitch but anything else is rare. I never heard any f-words and I heard one shit in the whole game.
  • Cussing is far more frequent as this game is an online, multiplayer game instead of a single player RPG/first person shooter like Fallout 3, New Vegas and 4.
  • Cussing may return in the new Wasteland DLC as there're human NPC's! Somehow, even after 25 years, there're human NPC's in Appalachia.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • All player characters can take the fictional chems we have known since the first game (ex: Psycho, Mentats, Buffout, Med-X, Jet, etc.) and alcohol can also be taken as well. All these items provide temporary stat boosts and SPECIAL boosts, but are addictive. The same methods to treat addictions like in previous games remain the same. So the game has huge emphasis on drug and alcohol misuse.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • There are lots of frightening/intense scenes like jump scares from creatures in the dark etc.
  • Besides the bigger creatures like the Sheepquatch, Deathclaws, Yao Guai's and Mothman, there really aren't many frightening things in this game. Except the queen and all her monsters and the many hidden bosses aswell as all the players running around in clown costumes.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • Unlike previous titles, violence against human players is not necessary as you can team up with random players. However, you may need to use violence to kill mutated creatures like Deathclaws (giant mutated Jackson chameleons), rogue robots or "Mothman".

Profanity

  • With the new Wastelanders DLC including human NPC'S, there is a variety of cussing. The major cussing might come more from the Raider faction opposed to the Settlers faction.
