Contemplative!

This is the most well written series I've seen in a long time. The mystery is fun to follow. The dialogue doesn't talk down to the audience. The production value is always right on the mark. The casting of the principal characters is brilliant. I love this series and this wedding episode in particular. I anxiously await Shane's wedding!

They saved the best for last. These movies are so touching and inspiring but if this one doesn't bring a tear to your eye, you're dead inside!

The long awaited wedding of Rita and Norman was worth the wait.
cgvsluis19 October 2021
Rita and Norman's long awaited wedding is here with a few last minute snafus, like Rita's mother's unexpected accidental death in a spelunking accident.

The postables are working on a wedding dress mystery of their own...Evelyn Rose at 96 is still making unique wedding dresses and this was made for the grandmother of the bride.

1892 Dejarling Tea...might be a helpful clue.

"Can you imagine me? In an Evelyn original."-Rita.

Pre wedding rituals are shared in this episode of Signed, Sealed, and Delivered, including the O'Toole family tradition of proposing in an ugly green tie.

This is a sweet entry in the postables series, filled with love, fun and our usual quirky characters. If that apeals to you, you will be thrilled with the long awaited wedding of Rita and Norman.

Signed, Sealed Delivered: To the Altar Delivers!
This entire series is outstanding, and this latest installment is true fan service for the dedicated #POstables community. Signed, Sealed, Delivered always tells stories with heart, compassion and kindness, offering up timeless lessons about life, love & hope. To the Altar is no different! From the zany rom-com wedding antics as everything starts to go wrong, to the gentle and sensitive way it handles the topic of mental illness in the current 'case', there are no false steps here. And, without giving away too much (spoilers!) there are a lot of beautiful and long-awaited romantic moments for both couples in the series. I couldn't have been happier with this latest addition to the series and just hope for many more to come!

The BEST Yet
kristy200419 July 2018
A few years ago I found out about this series and it has yet to disappoint me. Each case is unique and heartwarming. We see a lot of breakdowns and issues in families, but this series, and the POstables, have a way of mending broken homes. I appreciate how the writers deal with mental health issues. And the love stories between the two couples will melt your heart. If you're new to this series, I highly recommend you watch it from the beginning with the pilot. You won't be sorry.

The very best of all the rest!

I seldom, if ever, watch a movie twice. That has changed with the SSD series on Hallmark! It offers such intrigue, such well developed plots, characters & dialogue--all so well 'delivered'! Since all have been unbelievably well developed and portrayed, it is not only the writing but the total production that is outstanding...astounding... in fact the best of the best. And this particular movie of the series rates the very best of all the rest!

I don't see how this visit with the Postables could be any better. The wonderful, quirky characters and a beautiful storyline chocked full of joy and sadness, simple kindness and real love, humor and tears; it did not disappoint in any way. Will be watching it again and again.

An Instant Television Classic!
dcrittenden-3861919 July 2018
This movie had everything. It was so funny! I laughed out loud many times. It was educational and heartwarming. The letter story and the story of Rita's mother were fantastically told and brilliantly brought to the screen by phenonmenal acting. The wedding, with all the last-minute problems and solutions was so sweet and so Rita and Norman. The romance factor between Shane and Oliver was off-the-charts fantastic! The movie was PERFECTION!

I do love these movies.

Well acted, well written as they are. Signed, Sealed,Delivered is one of the few programs/series that we watch without fail. With so much divisiveness on television anymore, the #POStables give a sweet, heartwarming escape from the madness.

I have been a fan of SSD since the pilot movie premiered and I will continue to love and support this series for as long as Hallmark continues to make more movies. To the Altar was just the best and all the actors were at the top of their game in this one. I loved finally seeing the wedding take place...just as in real life, a little sadness sprinkled in with the joy...What a story!!! Kudos to all involved in the production of this series...so inspiring!!

Not a thing needed to be altered.

I truly hope this is not the end of this wonderful series. I only say that because it is so hard to imagine a more perfect movie for it to end on. The magnificent culmination of all that has come before it. Seldom do you see writing on this level in a TV movie, and the dialogue delivered with such depth of feeling by all the cast. It's multi-layered, beautifully crafted, funny, insightful, and so respectful of mental illness. And the richness to the main characters' romances is intoxicating and believable, to the point of spontaneous tears. I've enjoyed all of their movies, but this is the only one I've written a review for, because I truly believe it is something all should share. For there are simply no false steps here. The very best. 10/10.

Warning: Spoilers
Three heartwarming stories woven together. This is sappy to the max and I love it.

The POstables always go above and beyond and the story they discover is heroic and tender in an unusual way. She isn't a war hero, or a spy, or even an activist journalist, but the battle she overcame is perhaps more heroic than any of those others because she had to overcome a brain that constantly lied to her and left her on the streets and separated from the one she loved more than any other person.

Meanwhile the woman who is getting married wishes with all her heart to just chat one more time with her departed mother. She shares her heart's desire with another daughter and brings healing.

Another woman has faith. So many romance movies and books have scenes with friends talking about "the way you look at him" or "she looks at you". Well Kristin Booth really does that in this movie and it is palpable.

This movie is quirky as ever, and we love them for it.

Love this whole series!
Jazzie-too16 January 2021
If only I could give 11 for this episode! This was utterly beautiful! I just hope this series continues! This core of characters just mesh so well into each of their roles. There could be so many more adventures to unfold. Just keep the characters as they are--for the most part!

A Fan Favorite!
sonicgeekette18 May 2020
This movie was the BEST of a fantastic series, yet! I see Hallmark is working on another installment to be released this year (2020). I am late in joining the Postables, but so glad I found them! I binged watched the whole series from the pilot movie, through the TV series, and all the movies in a weekend. I love the way the movies flowed and continued the story lines. I enjoyed watching Norman and the ever adorable Rita, and loved watching Shane and Oliver's story unfold from acquaintances to friends to the wonderfully sweet couple. Their respect and trust of one another is what true love should be. I also love how the writers handled mental illness in this movie, and how they dealt with Carol Burnett not being able to make this movie due to scheduling conflicts, but still kept her a part of the wedding. This movie had so much heart! I can't wait for the next installment of this series!

The POstables live on
safenoe12 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I'm a huge fan of Signed, Sealed, Delivered. I recorded To the Altar back in 2018 and well, life is busy with everything happening, so only today (12 January 2021!!) I finally watch To the Altar.

It was definitely worth the wait.

Funny thing is I thought that by now there would be more SSD movies (the pattern is usually two movies per year) but sadly not to be. There were none in 2019. There was supposed to be one in 2020 but the pandemic has delayed this, so hopefully 2021 will see one and hopefully two SSD movies. By then Norman and Rita will have celebrated their third wedding anniversary!

That's right, because To the Altar saw Norman and Rita get married! Also, Oliver proposes to Shane. Will they be married in time for the 2021 movie?

To the Altar sees the return of five beloved recurring cast members: Gregory Harrison, Barry Bostwick, Keb' Mo', Carol Burnett and of course the irrepressible Zak Santiago!

Unfortunately Carol had to appear via laptop because in real life because as stated in the iMDB trivia: "This was due to scheduling conflicts arising from the CBS Carol Burnett Special that needed re-shoots after Kevin Spacey was removed from the broadcast."

Collen Camp, who played Rita's Mom in an earlier episode, didn't appear. In fact her character was killed off (she died spelunking). Why? According to iMDB trivia: "Actress Colleen Camp who previously portrayed Rita's Mother doesn't appear in this movie. The character is apparently killed in an unseen spelunking accident. Camp was apparently difficult to work with and was written out of all future SSD movies at the main casts request."

This hasn't been officially verified. But a tweet by Maria Giardello on Sep 25, 2017 provides a clue. Maria asked the main cast what it was like working with Colleen Camp and Barry Bostwick. None of the main cast responded.

I also love the classical piano music in To the Altar.

Let's hope Signed, Sealed, Delivered lives on in 2021 and beyond!
