Kayden's got style and class
Among the wave of brilliant new female directors in Adult Cinema, Kayden Kross is fast joining the ranks of Liselle Bailey, Nica Noelle, Dana Vespoli and yes, Stormy Daniels, with her series of features for her label Trenchcoatx.
This 3rd edition of her "Sun-Lit" series showcases KK's strongest suits: style and mood. Unlike Vespoli's amazingly concise short stories, Kross's work here is more of a sketch structure: 4 virtually wordless vignettes that paint a romantic/dramatic sex scene with plenty of hints for the viewer to concoct his or her own version of a back story.
Opener has the wonderful superstar Riley Reid taking momentary leave of her career detour into lucrative gonzo assignments, limning the role of a lonely young woman who pines all morning, killing time with mundane activities, until Tyler Nixon arrives to service her sexually. After he shoots his wad and runs off, she seems as forlorn as ever.
Chief hint for me from KK in unlocking the meaning of this episode is frequent ring shots of Riley's hands, compared to Tyler's bare of jewelry digits, a sign of lack of commitment.
Strongest scene does have spare use of the Queen's English, as a luscious newcomer Ivy Lebelle (a cross between beauties Casey Calvert and Sovereign Syre, but with a big chest) wanders around seductively as Black stud Isiah Maxwell tries to ignore her, but not surprisingly fails. Their IR scene is satisfying, with pithy lines exchanged: "It's bold of you to do this in my girlfriend's home" sort of saying it all.
KK's partner Manuel Ferrara shows up and demonstrates his acting chops in an erotic fantasy involving his daughter's nubile friend Elena Koshka. With daughter Abby nearby, Manuel imagines Elena sitting on his lap and nonchalantly riding his big cock in a scene that KK refuses to identify as either real or imaginary. I identified Abby as Abby Cross in an unidentified NonSex role.
Remaining segment may be #1 for most fans, as Abella Danger gets angry when her just become ex-boyfriend Markus Dupree comes back to their place and is found sleeping on their bed. But it's no surprise that they have one last f*ck, Abella taking it in the posterior as is her wont.
Throughout it all KK presents the scenes as if lit brightly by sunlight pouring in through the windows, though what technical tricks (and studo lamps) she employs to get this title effect I know not.
