The Sweeney in Victorian London continues and in this week's episode a suspect gets brutally beaten up during an interrogation.
A mythical character called the Brick Man is terrorising London and Rabbit is put on the case. He finds that the sewers are an important lead.
Meanwhile his nemesis Tanner had part of his face blown off as he tried to upstage Rabbit with a diamond heist arrest.
The archenemy Lydia (Keeley Hawes) introduced in the end of the first episode planned to kill Mabel but it had to be aborted when her handbag was stolen and Mabel retrieved it.
A lot of the show hinges on the loud personality of Matt Berry, surely the natural heir to Brian Blessed the way he is going. As in the first episode I found it mildly amusing in a frothy way but some of the jokes are stretched.
