A much better episode. Like the writers realised this is the penultimate episode of the first series and they need to bring the various plot strands together.
Rabbit promises to save Flora from the gallows. Lydia wants to know from Mabel about Rabbit's work pattern.
Tanner is incensed that Rabbit has only got a slap on the wrist for police brutality and sees to it that he ups his bribe to get Rabbit off the force.
Rabbit on his way to save Flora from the hangman gets diverted to a hostage situation in a match factory. It is all a ruse to delay Rabbit.
There is another camp appearance by the Elephant Man who is angry that the hostage taker owes him money. At least Mabel, Wilbur and Rabbit know who might had been pulling the strings all along.
