Little Boy Lost
jessicabnoll7 May 2022
Another beautiful episode that's damn near a masterpiece by looks alone. But wait there's more! A tripping Al finds himself on another odyssey dealing with who he knows himself to be inside vs. How the world at large sees him. Some wonderful callbacks to the themes of family, loss, and self-awareness that are so prevalent in this wonder of a show.

The best amsterdam episode!
I loved how the twists all came full circle, and there was also a shocking "fan boys" scene.

And I was shocked at how paper boi was still sad and felt lonely without his mom. But at the end, we're reminded that he still has a family who cares about him.

"Woods" pt. II (Amsterdam Edition)

Paper Boi trips with Darius on a weird drug, gets lost and meets a annoying and spontaneous yet insightful woman who keeps messing with him. Oh, and there's a weird ass cameo.

It's a good episode.

The Odyssey of Al

Warning: Spoilers
The best episode this season. Al's Odyssey in the city of Amsterdam. What really happened, and what was imagined in his head, we'll never know. But who cares. BT Henry had masterful performance in this one, and Donald Glover shows once again how talented he is.

Amsterdam is brilliantly depicted, I never had a wish to visit that city, but after this episode of Atlanta hopefully I will. Cobbled narrow streets, river channels and bridges, and a bunch of a bit weird but so interesting people wandering around.

And, yes, Al is very gentle soul. So lost and fragile without his beloved mother. But... his Earn is there and all will be cool.

A brilliant episode!

A beautiful episode. Leaves you with a lot to think about. An absolute masterpiece. It introduces different sides of characters we've already known, and makes you question their loyalty.

I usually don't write a lot of these but the way this incredible episode was delivered has force me to write one. Who in the world thought that the Lorraine's character introduction was similar to Alfred's mom. Damn!! This is one of those episodes that make you shout Holy S***. Great work Team Atlanta, your message has been delivered.

Favorite Episode Ever

I love this episode. The strongest one this season. This is kinda like the sequel to the woods episode of season 2. Both of those episodes are my all time favorites.

Why is this even allowed on mainstream. Probably the most disturbing thing I've seen lately.

(Not a criticism of the episode itself, which was quite good)

"Fan boy Scene"
Remon1013 September 2023
This episode shows you the dark side of Amsterdam.

I was shocked with the fan boy scene, never been there but for me it'll be like hell there.

About the Rappers in general they don't know anything about anything I believe it's true because they hiring people to do everything they want even for rolling their cigarettes.

This episode reminded me life is like a circle, beginning of the episode Darius told him " don't be like him" and at the end he became exactly like him.

I hope that the scene was Liam Neson in was not his real opinion because it's bad.

I really liked all the twisted scenes.

Warning: Spoilers
I felt that this episode was one of the weaker ones of Al's standalone adventures. There were some moments of brilliance (like the Liam Neeson cameo and the story he told himself was a true story haha) but some parts felt a little predictable. It still had that trademark surrealism and absurdist portrayal but I felt like they could do more with it because this was like the first psychedelic episode they did for Atlanta. I did like the ending of how the past and the present was overlapping but that was probably the best part. It's hard to make the connections between the "New Jazz" and "Cancel Club". What does new jazz mean and why is it welcomed at the Cancel Club? Who exactly is Lorraine and what's her purpose? I saw some review about how this was an indirect portrayal of Al's fears perhaps in regards to cancel culture and the financial responsibilities/rights that he needs to have. It is again a deeper dive into Alfred as a character but I don't know if I love it to death. Still a fun one at heart.
