I'm a big fan of the original Bletchley Circle series, so was hugely pleased to see the much loved series back. The twist here being that the series is switched to the States, part of the success of the original series was that it captured the Britishness of life as the second world war was unfolding. It is interesting to see how that theme would work in San Francisco, somewhat successfully I would say, we get a grizzly crime, we get a definite pattern, and we get two old favourites brought back to life well by Julie Graham and Rachel Stirling. The period detail is fantastic, a few goofs were made, but who cares, it looks and sounds great.
I was a bit weary, I thought the show would have lost the thing that made the drama successful, I was wrong. This was a very good start. 8/10
