Not too interesting but I understand

It's just the second episode. First episode pulls you in, second episode establishes stuff slower. Not bad, just very little to be seen, however I still commend it for its acting and writing being very realistic.

Warning: Spoilers
The connection made between the rape victim, Amber, and the very controlled and smooth Detective Duvall made this a WOW for me.

On a side note, seeing Marie as a basket case three years later is very disturbing. For some reason she has not gotten the help she obviously needs. Hoping this turns around.

Okay, on to episode 3.

Unbelievable (2019)

Series

1st Season

Episode Two - Episódio Dois

The difference in treatment from Duvall is surreal, and it has nothing to do with Marie's mothers discrediting their adopted daughter to the police, those police officers obviously didn't want to work, and they were already looking for a wrong comma placed by Marie before the mothers even opened their mouths.

This episode was much more enjoyable to watch, as it wasn't claustrophobic like the other one.

I loved Duvall and I believe Toni Collette didn't even have two minutes in this episode, but she already showed how wonderful she is in this character.

Episode two of the first season of the Miniseries Inacreditável watched on May 2, 2024.

Rating: 10/10.

Just wow!

I'm very late to this show but already I'm hooked. What a stark contrast between the way this case was handled compared to the one in the first episode! The female detective investigating Amber's case was incredibly calm, patient, and empathetic; enabling Amber to feel comfortable enough to remember, and tell, the events of her assault. Compare this to the male detectives investigating Marie's case. They were brash, unprofessional and completely devoid of any empathy, or even awareness of how Marie would be feeling after such an ordeal. Instead, they judged Marie by her background, ignored the medical report. They pressured her so she felt more confused and doubted herself, until eventually she felt she had no option other than to retract her story. Her 'support' network failed her just as badly.

I'm intrigued to see how this plays out now that an initial link has been made between the two cases, and Toni Collette has made her bold entrance! The lead actors are doing a fantastic job and, in my opinion, the pace is just right.

I'm just so saddened though, that this is based on true events, not only for the rape aspect but also that some detectives still treat rape victims in this way. This show brilliantly highlights some of the failings, as well as the successes in the police force in dealing with these types of cases.

Awesome

Continuing my marathon and what a wonderful episode. The difference in treatment from the investigators in the first episode compared to Duvall is incredible. The first episode was mega suffocating. In this episode, although it remains heavy, it was much more enjoyable to watch and follow Duvall. The people at Banco de Séries suspect Duvall's husband, but I don't suspect him simply because it's a real story and not a Mexican soap opera. The performance of the actress who plays Duvall is impeccable, demonstrating the sweetness and empathy that the profession needs. Sad about everything that happened and continues to happen during the series with Marie. Episode two watched on March 12, 2024.
