South Park is great again
eatpajdittsvin-520-81115016 November 2018
While some parts (such as the conclusion) of this episode are a bit random, on the whole it is an enjoyable continuation of last week, and like the rest of this season a marked improvement over previous years. I am now excited about watching South park again, which hasn't been the case for half a decade.

Good action

Warning: Spoilers
This episode continues the story where the boys are trying to stop Manbearpig. They find out that it was Stan's grandfather and the people at the retire home who made a deal with Manbearpig. They assumed they'd be dead by the time he came back. It's an obvious analogy for global warming. Satan decides to stop Manbearpig himself, but gets killed! Then, Satan dies and goes to Heaven?

I don't know how that works. I admit the ending is a bit anti-climatic. It features them making a legal negotiation with Manbearpig. He'll simply come back again. I seriously thought this would be a three parter. Well, it's still funny. ***1/2

South Park lampoons them all - warmists, skeptics, public apathy, Gore, et. al
jwalter-821-76600923 November 2018
The Guardian, and others, have opined that these two episodes are an admission from South Park that global warming is real. I think not. SP is still calling warming: ManBearPig, an absurdity. Second, even in the episode, their apology to Al Gore, one of many warmists who has profited from MMGW, was forced and insincere. But, perhaps more importantly, these episodes mock everyone who supports the warmists as well as the skeptics, who refuse to really do anything if it inconveniences them at all (no soy sauce on rice!? give up a game addicition?!), willing to dump whatever consequences on future generations. So I think the satire from season 10, ManBearPig, is increased to include the people supporting the Global warming alarmism as well as those opposing it - do nothings - push it off on future generations. If they had changed ManBearPig into something real, that would have been an apology. They did not. ManBearPig and MMGW are both impossible things - as well as anyone really doing anything about it no matter what they believe

I think this is indeed admission to believing global warming, contrary to a couple other reviews here

The 2006 ManBearPig episode was good, and I had a lot of laughs. But it hasn't aged well, so with more and more evidence of climate change seemingly being a true problem our planet is facing, Matt and Trey gave us this episode. Fundamentally still a South Park episode with all the gags and jokes we have come to expect, but I believe its symbolism is being portrayed very seriously (or at least SOMEWHAT seriously). After all, South Park is very topical and they are always trying to make a point in their episodes. We all knew MBP was referring to climate change back in 2006, and it seems pretty clear here that they are admitting it to being a real thing in this episode. It may not be an immediate threat, but people really need to get off their high-horse and take a look at the evidence. Climate change is very real, and denying it at this point is more absurd than MBP itself in my opinion. I think people at the very least need to acknowledge it as a growing problem with its effects only growing more and more profound in recent years. How exactly do we stop it? I'm not entirely sure, but a good first step is admitting it as a real threat, and I am VERY happy to see Matt and Trey do that with these episodes. So yeah, I really like these 2 episodes!

Even if you aren't totally on board with the agreement on climate change, this episode is still pretty solid. Lots of your typical South Park humor and plenty of stuff to make you think. Give this and the previous episode a try and decide for yourself, is climate change real?

South Park is killing it lately
pledgerock15 November 2018
This season has been fantastic, with only one bad episode (3). With the return of Towelie, Al Gore and Manbearpig, and Satan himself (not to mention that classic SP ultra violence) South Park has gotten back to its roots but still manages to remain fun and exciting. I get that people are irritated by the constant Red Dead refs but I'm obsessed with the game like so many others so I found it to be funny. Also I don't think it got in the way of the story line. South Park is brilliant. I'm either a nice warm bowl of liquid or a cold bowl of grains and milk because I'm SUPER SERIAL

My take on the red dead "hate"
superaggi16 November 2018
Do you guys believe that Rockstar games (the developers of Red Dead Redemption) is giving south park money to advertise their game? It is satire of that "everyone" plays it because of the news articles and the hype in the papers. People seem to forget that they have done this before, remember the 3 part Game of thrones episode? Remember the pewdiepie segments? They are not promoting the game, they are not showing any gameplays, they are just talking about it. So stop complaining about it just because you maybe dont get it. Its obvious that the creators are huge fans of the game, and that it has had a huge impact on their work enviroment these last 12 days. Fantastic episode by the way.

Loved this episode of South Park
checkiec15 November 2018
Season 22 of South Park is one of the best recent episodes in recent years. It's on par with seasons 17-19 with the latest topics on stuff like Red Dead Redemption 2 and the heavy reliance on using smartphones. Go South Park! You're still the God of comedy.

Hate these RDR2 references.
murshidrashid15 November 2018
This could have been a great episode. But these Red Dead references make the episode less progressive and irritating. Wtf happened to South park. We need more drama between the characters. I miss the good old South park.
