There are two different ways to look at Betty en NY, we can either look at it with the original (And best version ever made) "Yo Soy Betty, la fea", produced in 1999 or we can look at it alone, by itself. And in both ways, I believe there are some mistakes. One problem, that many of the versions of this story has and this one does too, is that Betty is not ugly. We had this problem on Ugly Betty as well, sure, we have a character that's a fashion disaster with those huge glasses and that unique way to stumble around. But we can see, since episode 1 that there's a beautiful girl underneath it, so we are not surprised at all with her becoming a beautiful woman, we already knew it. That's something that the original version does greatly, the surprise when we see the new Betty is magnanimous, and the transformation happens step by step, with the hair, the braces, the confidence sinking in, the glasses until we finally see the ugly duck swimming graciously through the river of Ecomoda (V&M). This version also had a lot more subplots development than the original version. And, some of them were great improvements. Daniel Valencia wasn't a good villain back in 1999, we could see a bad man, sure, but nonetheless a man trying to protect his family. Here, we see a villain, a man without limits to achieve what he wants, a man who doesn't care if he has to destroy his family's assets if he succeeds, a man capable of murder and who doesn't care at all for human lives. Very well done for Betty en NY. We also had a lot more development with the girls who work at V&M, all their stories were increased, making us care more about them, they're not just support now, they're people, with their story and their problems and their feelings, however, we lose a lot of time developing Sophia's story. At climactic points when we are tense and wanna see what's going on with the protagonists, the story cuts to this side plot that was supposed to be a comic relief, but tries to rival the main story. They get so much screen time that it becomes tiresome, making us lose focus and making the main story lose impact. Sophia's character had also some other problems, like insulting Marcela when she was the only one who helped her with her suffering and her divorce, that shows her like an ungrateful person or, at least, contraditory. We also see Sandra (and Wilson) having A LOT MORE screen time on this version, they had a decent side plot, which was completely new and wasn't as long as Sophia's. It was nice to ad subplots and this one was a good addition. Another good addition was Hugo's husband (and his wife). Hugo itself was 10 times better than the original. We could see his feelings, his details, how he handles the problems and, at the same time, we had the Divino Hugo, the diva, with all his shenanigans. Overall, we have a very complete work, which deals very well with the elements of today, being very well adapted for our days and our technologies. Of course with all the information we have today it is a little harder to believe that a woman wouldn't be able to improve her appearance enough to be well suited for her job, but we can look past that and enjoy this amazing love story and adventure.

I know Betty isn't for everyone but I was immediately drawn to this show after the first episode. I will shamefully admit that I didn't want to sit through over a 100 episodes and feel what I did when I watched Ugly Betty when they didn't end up together, The best thing about this one is that Betty and Armando do evolve and grow p together in the end. No matter how much they try they just can't help but being drawn together time and again, can't beat the chemistry and soul connection. I also loved the supporting characters, Marcela and Patricia, Hugo and the snake Ricardo and what about Daniel. Let's not forget her wonderful "squad", there are so many layers of stories in this show that it covers all types of relationships and wow watching Marcela and Daniel's sister take down Ricardo- fantastic- for every woman out there who has come across someone like him. Armando, interesting character you want to dislike him in the beginning for using Betty but he is a product of his own world, but you can see him falling for Betty's enthusiasm to her work ethic her kind nature and softness, you see that he really does care about her and does know her. Betty...I love her, I looked like her at that age and watching someone who has curly wild hair, hairy, who dresses for comfort to hide herself and blend into the background, boy do I know her. I really loved the realistic progress made in developing her character, which is normal because as you love get hurt you grow and gain strength, there is something that happens in the metamorphosis.... she learns to that she is worthy, and I love that Armondo is the one suffering, realizing how much he hurt her and watching him slowly realise he has fallen in love with her, he seems stunned, dumbfounded. First trying to resist but not able to, then embracing it, fantastic acting by Erick Elias, I believed he loves her that he fell. Elyfer Torress she is wonderful, to hear she grew out her lip hair and side burns to give it that authenticity made me love her more, something the American version done a few yrs didn't do. Elyfer's did an amazing job and I haven't seen the original, kept meaning to after Ugly Betty, Elyfer is my favourite Betty, the first with curly hair. Thank Telemundo Global Studios for making this brilliant production, great set production, clothes and seeing another side to NY. I liked this show so much I had to come on and give a review.

I watched Betty 3x, each time loving it more than before! I love that Betty gets her HEA, that Armando and her make up :) so binge-worthy and wonderful!

The series revolves around the ugly girl Beatriz, who most in life wanted to be recognized and maybe even meet someone who will love her for who she is. Not many know the series that follow the standards of beauty, from ugly to becoming beautiful. This series is known to be a remake of another in the same series. Although the ugly duckling has been shown in many countries and even created in his own language, this one turned out to be interesting to me, although I can't say the best one because I haven't seen past series yet.

Armando. For me, this actor, turned out to be quite too old to be a 30-year-old man, because in reality he is 40. Armand is shown as an ordinary girl with a fiancé next door and often even too often going to a bar with a friend to look for new adventures.

Marcela. I didn't like her at first, although in appearance she is a very beautiful woman. But I didn't like her humiliation against Armando, just because of her endless love for him, but here's the series, although in real life as far as I know there are such people too. But I liked how the end showed its understanding. After all, not everyone can come to terms with unrequited love.

I didn't really like Patricia at the very beginning. She appeared to me as a leaping, albeit beautiful, but very unpleasant personality, looking for a man for wealth, playing something that isn't really there, annoyingly making fun of others poor or ugly, even though she's no better. But I started to like her when she started to get closer to Nicolas and then her lifestyle started to change little by little.

Guard. In general, I call it not to expand too much. I have a great shot of girls, just to be able to tongue more and take care of my life, as if you never had any problems yourself, but it's nice to me how they take care of Betty. Sofia from all over the guard made it to me like a mother.

Ricardo. I couldn't stand this man in the whole series. He's so unreliable to me, though he doesn't complain about beauty. He is joined by another disliked character, Daniel. I was sad when he made fun of Betty, but then it was funny when he fell in love with her: D Such a villain, but still quite sympathetic.

I can't understand if the actors are really bad or if it's some kind of irony. But that's just the tip of the ice. Betty's supposed to be smart, intelligent, but she's stupid. Intelligent people know how to defend themselves. But she just cry. She is stupit. Ok, she doesn't understand fashion, but she have never been outside? She supposed to know at least that woman, generally wax their mustaches. She wants to be ugly to prove a point, than at least try to step up and not cry. In the USA production, Ugly Betty, she knows how to defend herself from the first episode. And in this show, all the characters are mean, too mean. Even Betty having an affair and her friends with their problems are mean. You people have to learn how to make a soap opera, or a TV show. Because this is just lame contradictory and stupid!

End was not professional .

And till old Betty was good than it was predictable 😞
