Some very good pearls mixed with very bad stand up comedians.

The concept of regrouping stand up comedians in one special is awesome. The level of the French stand up comedians is really low though. France has so many good comedians but Netflix brought us the worse of the worse.

Some great stuff and some of the worst all rolled into one show for some reason.

First off you need to address the audience for this show. The were just awful. I do not know where they got these people or what was wrong with them but they would not know funny if it bit them on the face. Neal Brennan did one of the best sets I have ever seen him do and they barely clapped for him. Not sure if it was the subject matter or what, but they seemed very sensitive. When recording these specials the audience is pretty important. No matter how funny or skilled a comedian is, the audience ultimately sets the mood. This audience was like a dead fish for most of the comics. The next problem is the mix of comedians. They have some incredible comedians mixed in with people that should never hold a microphone. I think most people will find themselves just skipping some of these comics about 4 minutes into their sets. But one thing is for sure, these comics do not belong on the same stage together. Here were my individual ratings (1 to 10) for the US and Canadian comics sets. There are many more but this will give you a start. 1. Neal Brennan 9 Just a great set. The audience did not seem to like the subject matter but F them. Great writer and great stand-up. 2. Chris D'Elia 8 I have seen better from him but this was still good. Great comic. 3. Nicole Byer -1 I don't have words to describe how terrible she is. She just screams and laughs at her own "jokes". No thank you.. ever. 4. Nick Swardson 5 I have seen him so much better than this. Just a bad day? 5. DeAnne Smith 6 Not my type of humor but pretty good. Crowd liked her. 6. Ivan Decker 8 Never seen him before. Thought he was excellent. 7. Dave Merheje 3 Lot of screaming + Adderall? + bad material = not good. 8. K. Trevor Wilson 7 I found this guy pretty amusing. Interesting style. All in all I would suggest giving this show a chance. Just make sure you keep the remote in your hand and a finger on the ff.

If you like stand-up comedy in general, you'll certainly find something you like here

Look, I'll make it simple enough for you. You like stand-up comedy? Try watching some "Comedians of the World" episodes, you'll enjoy it.

Right out of the bat, it's pretty clear that this is all about comedy and diversity, and it does a great job at both of those things. Here you have 47 different comedians, all doing a 30-min routine, coming from the US, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, South Africa, UK, France, the Middle East, Mexico, Brazil, the Netherlands, Germany and India. There's men, there's women, there's fat people, skinny people, gay people, straight people, people speaking different languages, and all of them are funny in their own right.

You're probably not going to like all of them, but there's enough stuff here for all to enjoy. If you have watched all episodes that you think you might like, why not put some subtitles and try something new?

Where was the comedy

Basically the so called comedians that say the "right" stuff I miss the days when comedians mocked the establishment. Just a party political for the left.

Great shows for an uplift and good laughs

I found myself laughing hysterically at some of Nish Kumar's insights/jokes. However the audience was not laughing at all. I think this might be because he was so fast spoken that they didn't catch the nuances of the joke. I watch with subtitles and recommend this to get the fulfillment the comedians so richly give.

I found Mae Martin's routine extremely vulnerable, but intriguing and ultimately funny.

I watched a couple of the US show and look forward to seeing more. With such variety, I'm sure there is something for most people here. I love the format. Thank you Netflix.

Not funny and Offensive
tansumya12 October 2019
In the very first episode where Neal Brennan talks about the immigration ban policy and trying to defend Muslims, he is actually being islamophobic suggesting Muslims are nice guys if they do not follow their religion. He explains it with a music fan analogy. A fan knowing all the songs of fav celebrity and going crazy is ISIS. I am a practising Muslim and I am not ISIS. Please be less ignorant when you are being 'funny'

Sample culture through comedy
modernglove18 February 2019
A handful of comics from 13 different countries or regions (US, Anglophone Canada, UK, Australia/New Zealand, South Africa, India, Mexico, Germany, Brazil, France, Middle East, Francophone Canada, Netherlands) highlight their acts with local influence. Subtitles recommended to catch the most jokes. Great way to pass time alone or with small group.

NO!

This is not comedy. Simply look at the Netflix specials for solo comedians, then this rabble and you will see its just a hit and hope test!

None of these comedians are funny, they don't have a presence and you sure would not buy a ticket to a gig of theirs after watching this, such a waste, it could have been an opportunity for upcoming comics, but this just spoils it all with round the block comedians already passed over for not having enough!

Netflix, you are better than this!

But they're not of the world

It's literally America and Canada. What a dumb title. Don't get me wrong, the comedians are funny and great. The title is "look how ethnic we are" terrible. This might be petty but I'm annoyed.

Funny and great!

Cant possibly imagine how this doesnt have a better score! Great stand up from talented comedians of several countries, definitely worth a watch for fans of comedy. Instantly wanted to see more, love the concept, never felt underwhelmed or disappointed, laughed out loud, every bit resontates...

Love how these routines brought me closer to other parts of the world! Loved hearing new perspectives on relatable themes and topics! Comedy is universal and it's great to see other cultures being represented, and great to see talented established comics I've never heard of or seen before. It felt fresh and fun, so much that I felt obligated to comment about it here.

I love how Netflix has been pulling content from around the world, it's more interesting than the repetitive crap I keep seeing on TV and other streaming services, and I appreciate the grounded, less "high-concept" material, especially when my life is cluttered and stressful as it is.
