What a season finale, it was great and I'm hoping it won't get canceled. It was filled with unexpected twists and turns, overall entertaining finale. Seeing Jon Bernthal act in this season with such heart and giving the character his best makes him the role he was meant to play as he nails every part of the character and gives one hell of a performance. You stop thinking this is a superhero show as it's so different and realistic, this season proves it even more.
This season put more focus on drama and the characters as we get to delve into their heads and hearts to see a different side on every character, giving Curt a bigger role was perfect and he quickly went from a side character to one of my favorites. The ongoing development on Amy and Frank's relationship to a father figure ish was perfect executed and seeing them bond was something Frank needed as a character as it gave him a purpose in life. The two villains of the season were good, Billy was there for character development purposes but the real and intriguing villain was the Pilgrim and that whole story arc was what made the season memorable and extraordinary. With the more focus on quality drama and character development we got less action sequences but the ones we did get was superb, stunt work, choreography and the gritty nature of it was just remarkable.
