The colorful jackets and cowboy hats Bullet wears during his entrances for the dog fighting are tributes to professional wrestling legend 'Macho Man' Randy Savage. 'Macho Man' was known for his elaborate entrance gear. Also, the entrance where Bullet is carried into the arena sitting on a throne is a nod to Savage's time when he was known as the 'Macho King' and would be carried to the ring in the same way by lesser known wrestlers. To take the tribute one step further, during his final dogfight Bullet ingests a "Hillbilly Highball" which includes 13 Slim Jims. From 1993 to 2000, 'Macho Man' was the celebrity spokesman for Slim Jim, appearing in a series of popular commercials.
When Bullet takes the "Hillbilly Highball" during his last dogfight, he transforms into a werewolf type creature and his eyes turn yellow. This is a nod to Michael Jackson's "Thriller" video where MJ also turns into a werewolf and the same yellow eyes.
