The movie Saul and Kim are watching is "His Girl Friday," a Howard Hawks fast-talking comedy about a fierce and independent woman, and the befuddled man who doesn't deserve her but doesn't want to lose her. A very appropriate movie, given the plot of this episode.
Mike's speech to Jimmy about being able to forget is clearly inspired by Stacey's admission to the support group that she is thinking about Matt less and less (Talk (2018)).
When Jimmy gets out of Mike's car following Mike's speech to Jimmy about how even the smallest decisions you make in life lead you down a road you can't escape from, you can see two skateboarders in the background of the scene. This was a throwback to the start of season one when Jimmy was running a scam with the two skateboarders that led him to Tuco and eventually led him to becoming a "friend of the cartel".
The opening scene before the intro directly mirrors the opening scene of "Something Stupid" from season 4, mirroring Jimmy and Kim, and using the same music; only in a cappella form.
As of July 2021, this is highest rated episode of the series to date.
