Where are the bathrooms?
margiedegraaff31 August 2018
Love the show, quick paced and funny. Beautiful designs and I enjoy that such different houses are featured. I am disappointed though that we don't get to see any of the bathrooms. Are they not being renovated?

Love this show!
jarakanda19 August 2018
It's addictive and interesting. I do wish that they revealed info about the costs of the renovations that are performed. They all seem like really high budget makeovers, which makes them feel less attainable for those of us who can't hire interior designers.

Great idea.. missing critical info
clinton-483-29306810 September 2018
Great idea for a show.. I like how the host is explaining their inside thoughts and goals. We (the audience) must see the cost of the renovations.. at least as a final price if you don't wanna break it out. If this is about finance, then share the cost of the project. Lastly, suggesting someone put it on AirBnB for $250/night is great.. I want you to visit them back in 6 months and do a follow up, before the episode goes live. How did they do? Of course they could fail due to their lack of business skills but still, it is a real life result. Did they meet their goals of 16 nights a month?

Best, most relevant home show available!
jtomlinson-4820418 August 2018
What Genevieve does for these homes and home owners is beyond amazing! I'm booking the ones in California myself!

The Vintage Ranch for my newlywed son, actor Chris Tomlinson and his wonderful wife, school teacher Kimberly! I know they will love it!

Personally, I about cried watching that amazing mid century modern in Palm Springs and yes, I want the Rolls too! That house was so incredible and I have been in a lot of the Palm Springs homes and never seen one as hot as this one!

Also, I was super impressed with how Genevieve and Peter really helped out the owner and the community with that beautiful carriage house in Hudson NY. I believe you have to have it hearts and a great World consciousness to see what they saw and bring it all together as they did! They are clearly both really humble and big givers and I think a big gift to us viewers!

Thank you Netflix! Great job! I'm starting to wonder if I'm wasting money on all these other services I subscribe to!

Lots of big claims
montywent25 August 2018
Do a follow up and tell us at the end of the show if what they're claiming they accomplished actually shows up in revenue!

Very well done!!!
townsendclay25 August 2018
This is a very well put together show. Nicely thought out, practical and above all, entertaining. It was very fun to see how they completely revamp these homes blowing the minds of the home owners and us viewers in the process. Its obvious that a ton of money was put into the making of this. World class interior design and real estate expertise come together with a great cast, and to me it was written, directed and produced as well it possibly could have been. If you have zero appreciation for travel, design, real estate, or photography, no need to watch. For everyone else, your welcome! :)

Love the show, look forward to the next season!
Groovykat1026 November 2018
Had a hard time deciding between a 7 or an 8 for this show. I love the designs, the 70's one was spectacular! What is missing is the details like others have said. How much is the owner's budget for renovations (or did the show pay for some?) and did they stay within budget? Did it pay off? Do these places even have bathrooms!? Lol! Seriously though, I think I caught a glimpse of a bathroom once and that's it. This show would be a def 9 out of 10 for me if they discussed the renovation budget, showed us a bathroom once in awhile and did the follow up at the end of the show or at least have the last show of the season 100% dedicated to following up on each owner and whether it's worked out or not. & please stop the slow mo's of Genevieve, really weird!

I loved it!

Warning: Spoilers
I really enjoyed the show, it was very well planned. The eye for the details were really inspiring. I would have scored 10 but I have a few comments for improvements. First there shouldn't have been so many spoilers at the beggining of the episodes, and it would be appreciated if they could share the costs and budgets to renovate, also what happens to the bathrooms? I'm excited for the second season!

great designs,... on an bottomless budget ?!?!
butkovictoma15 July 2019
I love home/garden renovation and design shows. I am currently renovating my house into a bed and breakfast so when I heard about this show I was super excited. However, maybe I just keep missing the point in the episodes where they explain just how much they are investing into the renovations, redecorating, etc, because without that info its pointless for someone who is trying to up the value of their property on a budget. Stay Here is basically a show about randomly buying someone a bunch of new furniture and renovating and redecorating and then saying hey, now you can bump up the daily rental price. (.....Duuhhh). Now I am 3 episodes into it and I will likely keep watching for the nice designs. There are a few good tips here and there but it could have been a lot better with a few tweaks.

Useful and Practical
eddie_dyer1 September 2018
The show provides useful and practical knowledge for the average short-term rental owner, particularly those who have jumped into the business in recent years but don't have the skills to properly market their properties in an increasingly competitive market. For the non-owner, it provides a glimpse into the business and offers a travel perspective into unique neighborhoods for those that may want to visit.

Cool concept
marcgardiner-0471823 August 2018
Cool concept for a show. Some of the owners clearly had money and a nice location and just needed the show to finish off. I want to see more run down places and the potential they have.

Great Design Inspo But Concept is OFF
chantagordh1 November 2020
Pros- the designs are great inspo for diy interior designers.

Cons- they've only selected affluent home owners who are already wealthy with high priced homes. It make me cringe to see the wealthy get wealthier by dumping a 20 person construction crew, hundreds of thousands of dollars in decor/remodeling and a Netflix streaming platform to market it to the moon. This show should dump those resources into regular everyday homes of average Americans with no ability to invest that type of money into their home because they have other important priorities (kids, bills, student loans) that take precedence.

2. The male host does absolutely nothing of real value. I guess he's the narrator ? He is supposed to be the real estate marketing expert, however he's introducing concepts like " hashtags and says things like " have you ever heard of SEO?" as if we are preschoolers lol. Too much lol.

3. They leave out the cost intentionally. Sure! If you invest $100k into a home and decor, your avg nightly rental fee will go up, but how relevant is this for the average homeowner?

The Palm Springs episode really made me leave this review. The couple wanted to "filter and screen" who was allowed to stay there and asked the hosts for help on how to do that. As a black woman whose rental applications have been ignored because my name sounded "too black", I was uncomfortable watching how the hosts and owners discussed "discrimination"with such ease. It actually blew my mind...

I'll stick to shows that are more relevant and valuable to me as a hardworking mom who enjoys interior design. It actually gave me an idea for creating my own show - one with a more inclusive lens aiming to change the lives of homeowners who really need the investment and guidance.

Looking forward to season 2
cbshop-899-89142125 January 2019
I pretty much binged this show in one day and I look forward to a second season. Here are things I enjoyed and appreciated: 1. There's none of that repetition you get with HGTV shows that have to remind you every 5 minutes about what just happened 5 minutes ago. 2. The design elements were tasteful and legitimate and nothing crazy or cheap looking. No "Let's glue egg cartons all over the walls for sound deadening and texture..." 3. The design elements were tailored to the use of the property and the location and each property was unique.

Presenter said the stupidest thing
oliviajackson612 September 2018
Started watching the programme, I really like the premise but the woman said a sweeping idiotic statement. She was was looking at these pans, in episode 1, that have a detachable handle and she said "they are all using these in Europe for every day living cause their houses are so small"... An entire continent is using detachable pans because all of our houses are so small? Had to switch it off after that.

What's with the music?
lismt-487804 July 2019
I love reno shows and I enjoy the 'before' and 'after' aspect of "Stay Here." I agree with previous reviewers-- What's the budget? Where's the follow up? And please, stop with the annoying and aggressive incidental music in the background and during scene transitions. Corny and unnecessary!

Great Transformations!
richardmcurrie-7891212 March 2020
There are some great transformations here. The format is fresh in the sense of marketing playing forward especially as these are viewed as businesses. Peter is very knowledgeable but his inability to pronounce his T's is really quite grating once you notice them.

One good thing; so many bad things...BUT WHY?
cmartinelli-12-6631604 November 2019
I enjoyed how they moved around the country and showed a great variety of properties.

Everything else was cringworthy, and got worse with each episode:
  • no bathrooms?
  • what about the other rooms in the big properties?
  • how much are you spending and who pays for it?
  • what perks are you getting from the businesses you visit?
  • so much stupid, forced, scripted wannabe-Will&Grace bits
  • too much music and title nonsense in such a short show
  • how hard would it be to do a follow-up at the end of the show?
  • who are these annoying hosts and what in heaven's name does the guy actually do, and I don't believe they are friends so stop pretending they are
  • please stop subjecting us to the forced and scripted "emotional moment"
  • STOP bear-hugging complete strangers!
  • why do the women go several octives higher when greeting each other, what is wrong with them?
  • we do not really need to encourage more properties out of the normal rental market and into the vacation rental market, do we?
  • why do you show the renovated property at the beginning of the show?
  • you are horrible people to force the workers to work through the night! Your deadlines are arbitrary and cruel.

But why? So many odd decisions went into the making of this show. It hurts to think about it. It came to hurt to watch it. Please stop it. And so many of the super-positive reviews here look like they are from wannabe-participants on the show, or people linked to the show Cringe, cringe, cringe.

Gordy was a fav..
lashaundavillarreallp24 March 2019
My mom watches this series and that's where I watched with her. I only watched one episode and that was with Gordy's "Yellow Block Bed & Breakfast" in Brooklyn New York. It was fantastic, my mom and I plan on staying there in the future. Amazing. I only gave 9 stars because I wanted to see bathrooms lol.

This show combines all my loves...
reneadijab28 August 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Design, tiny spaces, unique properties, inn-keeping, short-term rentals, marketing, travel... all in one slim half hour show - there is no waste here, no fluffing, no fake drama. They simply start the show and go about getting the business done.

A houseboat in Seattle, a firehouse in DC, a cottage in Austin, a Malibu ocean-front property to die for...

I am a little upset there are only 8 episodes. The source material is endless... I want to see a carriage house, a lighthouse, a tree house, an old school, a former church. They need to get busy.
