A boom operator tries to capture the sound of a mushrooms growing. This minimalist animation does what is described, with a boom technician trying to record mushrooms growing. The animation is basic in so much as it involves simple shapes in its characters, but it offers more in its sound design, which includes many memorable sounds, as well as an early 90's dance anthem from "Xpansion". As a total film it doesn't offer a great deal in terms of narrative or substance, but it is still an engaging experience in so much as it works with sound and a very condensed visual experience. In such, it offers an engaging minimal experience in that it offers sounds and simple visuals, so the viewer focuses more on the film by virtue of its simplicity.
It is interesting in the way it does work with these base elements, but it is never really more than "interesting". Ultimately it is an experimental film, and I didn't really understand it on any consistent way, and certainly found it interesting as a creative film even if I didn't find it particularly engaging or memorable otherwise.
