Rod Stewart’s “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?” remains one of the most famous disco songs by a classic rock musician. Interestingly, the tune was inspired by a Rolling Stones song. After “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?” became a hit, it inspired a Kiss song. Kiss’ song doesn’t sound too much like “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?,” regardless of the band’s intentions.
Another classic rock star helped write Rod Stewart’s ‘Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?’
Carmine Appice was a member of the band Vanilla Fudge who went on to co-write Stewart’s singles “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?” and “Young Turks.” During a 2023 interview with Smashing Interviews Magazine, Appice said recalled how “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?” came together. He also said the tune inspired one f the songwriters from Kiss to go disco.
“Rod Stewart was a great guy,” he recalled.

Kizumonogatari -Koyomi Vamp- begins with a kinetic display of carnage where its main character bursts into flames and careens down a skyscraper like a rogue pinball. It’s a violent, chaotic way to begin this vampire tale that feels all-too thematically appropriate for its conflicted hero, Koyomi Araragi, who gets pulled in extreme directions as he struggles to gain control of his life. It’s not dissimilar to the madness that the audience experiences as Koyomi Vamp’s aggressive storytelling grabs hold of them and doesn’t let go for two-and-a-half hours.
Anime is dense in groundbreaking and foundational vampire texts, whether it’s Vampire Hunter D, Blood: The Last Vampire, Hellsing, or even absurdly violent monster titles like Wicked City and Demon City Shinjuku. However, Kizunonogatari -Koyomi Vamp- clears them all. There’s a strong case to be made that Koyomi Vamp is not just one of the best anime vampire movies of all-time,...

Ten women from all across Britain have come together in the rustic Italian countryside seeking romance. While the format may resemble certain other reality shows, this Masseria plays host to an exclusively queer cast, marking new ground for LGBTQ+ representation on British television.
The hopeful singles range from recent graduates to established professionals, but all share the hopes and fears that come with opening one’s heart to potential love and vulnerability. Paired at the start based on basic compatibilities, they must now get to know one another amid laughter and tears as new bonds form and priorities shift with each episode’s recoupling ceremony.
Firecrackers and wallflowers alike bring vivacity to the villa, while frank discussions address issues too often overlooked elsewhere. Through it all, an infectious joie de vivre prevails as women revel in this space to simply be—a freedom many never knew—in a community supporting...

It’s a time-honoured way to open a crime thriller: a body, some dodgy blokes digging a grave, and a voiceover from the protagonist teasing the journey to come, wherein we will find out how the lads got into this sticky situation. You can’t accuse A Gangster’s Kiss of not knowing the genre template, as it then transitions into another stock gambit (one more typically beloved of comedy) and we flash back to their childhoods and see mini-me versions of the characters acting in ways that foreshadow how they will turn out as grownups. Bonus points for the behaviour being oh-so-hilariously inappropriate to the age of the kid involved. If a small child saying “fanny magnet” is your jam, A Gangster’s Kiss loses no time in assuring you that you...

Filmmaker Shane Black is known for directing the MCU film Iron Man 3 as well as black comedies such as Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and The Nice Guys. The director shot to fame as a writer, creating the Lethal Weapon franchise and also writing the Arnold Schwarzenegger starrer Last Action Hero. He also played a role in the star’s action film Predator.
One of Black’s most expensive sales was the screenplay of the Samuel L. Jackson starrer The Long Kiss Goodnight. The film also starred Geena Davis and Brian Cox and the screenplay reportedly sold for $4 million at the time. However, the failure of the film at the box office reportedly made Shane Black a Hollywood pariah.

Sting has emerged victorious in his last match and will now retire as an Aew Tag Team champion. Sting and Darby Allin beat the Young Bucks in the main event of Sunday’s Revolution after the iconic boxer got Matt Jackson to tap out to the Scorpion Death Lock. Sting, real name Steve Borden, is famously known for the monochromatic paint on his face, which many dubbed as the ‘Crow gimmick’. However, Borden shared that he never modeled himself after Brandon Lee’s The Crow.

In the latest season of Queer Eye, which dropped on Netflix yesterday, Wednesday, January 24, one particularly emotional episode featured Tim Keel, a Kiss superfan who was primary caregiver to his brother, Tommy “Doody” Keel. Tim appeared in Season 8’s second episode, titled “Kiss the Sky,” which featured the Fab Five tasked with transforming his life. It was one of Tim’s daughters, Melody, who nominated her father for the show, saying he needs to learn there is more to him than just being a Kiss superfan and Doody’s carer. In the episode, it’s revealed that Doody was left paralyzed after a car accident. “They didn’t think he was gonna live,” Tim told the Fab Five, per Entertainment Weekly. “He was in a coma for three months.” Tim, whose house is decorated top to bottom in Kiss memorabilia, has been caring for his older brother since 1986. ...

You’d think an artist as influential and groundbreaking as Prince would have been showered in Grammys, but that’s far from the truth. Throughout his career, Prince was only awarded seven times. Indeed, while the Grammys certainly weren’t dismissive of him, you would probably expect him to have won more than that, or at least to have won in a major category. Throughout his career, the eclectic musician only got three general field nominations: Album of the Year for “Purple Rain” and “Sign O’ the Times,” both of which he infamously lost, and Song of the Year for penning Sinéad O’Connor’s smash hit “Nothing Compares 2 U.” Still, there’s a lot to unpack from Prince’s wild Grammy history, including wins that you might not expect and losses that leave us wondering what exactly voters were on.
