For the past few months, bipolar Silvia, a cosmetic woman, lives with two men in the same house: Her abusive husband Stan and her singing lover, Ramon. The former pays her bills, the latter wants a green card and seek marriage to Sylvia, secretly anticipating bringing his Mexican girlfriend north once his presence in the country is legitimized. Stan know nothing about Ramon presence in an outer room. Ramon and Sylvia carry on their affair whenever Stan is not home. To fund Silvia's medication, Stan has participated in a crime where his only job was to dispose of a van that was used in the crime. Feeling this was a waste, Stan, instead, parks the in a parking lot. Frustrated with Stan, Sylvia calls the police about the van. One day, Stan discovers Ramon and an argument ensues. In the midst of this crisis, Mike, a mobster who was part of this crime, seeks to eliminate Stan after a warrant was place for Mike's arrest when he was connected with the van and the crime. After nearly being strangled, Stan fights off Mike and kills him. Injured Stan sits bleeding trying to recover in the kitchen when Sylvia enters and slides a large knife into his chest. Ramon has fled the scene and is later seen wooing another American woman whom he might marry to get his green card.
