Already love this series

Warning: Spoilers
I have watched 2 episodes already tonight and just about to watch another(I have another 10 to watch Lol) This is a great series that has already had me in tears (good tears I hasten to add) and can't wait to watch the rest of the episodes. It is a great program and I wish these doctors and Dr Max Goodwin ran my local hospital in the UK. Must admit I did scream a bit at the TV when he was told about his cancer condition and had kept it to himself and didn't want to have the treatment. I was shouting 'Think of your wife, baby, staff and patients NOT yourself and get the treatment for the cancer, get cured and you can make your hospital great and run it for a long long time. Don't be selfish as then you won't have a long happy career and the hospital will go back to being mayhem' I know it's not real and only made up but hey you can't help feel for all the doctors etc in this program. I hope this continues for a long time and gets even better (even tho I have given it a 9 I want to give it a 10 Lol) Great show that I am loving watching.

First episode was great! This one...

Warning: Spoilers
This one was dull, mindless, boring, and completely ludicrous. I get what they were trying to do with it, but I damn near lost it when the witch doctor spit her drink on the patient! Too over the top... Hopefully the next one is better.

Superstitious nonsense
btl-9052219 September 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Portraying superstition as a valid help for medical procedures is garbage, I lose all respect when anyone uses this nonsense, I would just like to see one medical drama that doesn't force religious crap down our throats

Wow

The amount of moral relativism in this episode is truly absurd. It is insane to think that any hospital allowing rituals involving normal people CUTTING into already dying people in the name of superstition is a good thing. It is simply a medically very dangerous thing to do, and this fact exceeds every cultural practice.

To then have the other doctor condescendingly and patronizingly explain "rituals" to the surgeon, as if singing to yourself while washing your hands is somehow equivalent to the extremely reckless BS that he was forced to allow before, is just completely over the top. People in a few decades will look back to this and facepalm their heads inside out.

Little boys storyline?
SLWeber7023 September 2019
The little boy was Finn Egan-Liang. The character's name is Leo, and he and his mother are listed. I could have sworn I had seen him in something else, but this New Amsterdam episode is his only credit.
