The Academy Mentor
claudio_carvalho16 October 2021
Nolan goes to a bar at night to drink with his Academy trainer and friend Jeremy Hawke, who tells that is divorcing his wife. Nolan invites him to sleep at his place, but Hawke tells that he had booked a hotel for a week. On the next morning, Talia and Nolan are assigned to attend a domestic violence case and they lean Hawke had assaulted the boyfriend of his ex-wife and soon he flees from the police with his son Logan in his truck. Meanwhile, West and Lopez are investigating a case in the hospital and they suspect the story told by the victim and his father is not the truth.

"The Hawke" is another good episode of "The Rookie'. In the end, Talia and Chen shows their importance in a male universe. My vote is seven.

Chen "separating" from Nolan?
jharts744028 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I really enjoy this show especially as the back stories of the TOs are developed. Over the last two episodes I've noticed that Chen appears to be separating emotionally from Nolan. In last week's episode after Nolan brought the unconscious boy who had drowned to the paramedics Chen went to the young Paramedic and not Nolan. Last night after both Bradford and Nolan had been punched by Hawke she went to Bradford's side not Nolan's. I'm hoping it's just an "act" because I really liked the Chen/Nolan relationship. I'm interested in how these characters progress and develop. Lots of action this episode!

Saint Bishop
dierregi10 June 2023
I was wondering when they were going to start with woke plots and here we go. In this episode Bishop behaves again like the perfect woman, as in every other episode so far. She always says and does the right thing, she's hyper-professional, extremely dignified, detached but mildly compassionate, fair and straight... I am just waiting to see a halo land over her sanctimonious head and a pair of wings sprouting from her back. Despite, or maybe because of, her perfection Bishop is not a sympathetic character like Nolan, she's kind of robotic, but maybe the authors were attempting to clean the tarnished reputation of the LAPD by portraying the perfect cop, as female and black... what a bold choice (perceive the irony).

Fair enough, except that the baddie is your usual white guy who lost it because the soon to be ex-wifey was entertaining naked a male guest at home. Not only that, but each and every female character in this episode - and there a lot - is strong and empowered. Way to go, girls!
