The empress's acting is amazing. She is truly devastated and looks beautiful with her hair in a more simple style. The king restrains her with ropes. She lies in bed tied up. Meanwhile, Wei is attending to her father by washing his feet and has no clue what just happened in the palace. The empress asks Mingyu to make a specific bun which would take a while. The empress walks out with the wind blowing her hair back. She climbs the steps to the roof, stating her so-called mistakes. She jumps and then the bells toll the next day, indicating someone's death. A man goes around announcing the empress's death and ppl kneel in respect. Wei comes back and is devastated to find out the empress is gone as well as the seventh baby prince. Mingyu persuades her not to lift the cover because her majesty's face is full of blood. The king comes, showing no emotion. He orders for the queen to be dressed up with adornments. Wei pleads for him to not adorn her because the queen didn't want to wear jewellery. The king insists and tells Mingyu to do so. He sends Wei to suicide with the queen. Mingyu refuses to do the task and throws down the box, running out.
