The emperor comes to visit and Wei is making kites despite knowing that Consort Chun was killed with a kite string. The emperor tells her to not make them anymore and he will teach her an instrument. She rejects saying she wants to make kites. The emperor storms off. The emperor sees Consort Chu and she acts cutesy. They watch a flower bloom together and the king orders for the instrument to be brought back so he and Shu can use it.
Mingyu is shocked and tells Wei to romance the king back but Wei simply yawns. She wants to sleep. She goes to sleep and Yi Lu comes knocking go get the instrument. Wei continues to not give the king attention. The king waits for Wei to come out to beg for him to let her keep it but she doesn't. The king comes in and plays the instrument while she is in bed. She gets up and they talk. She says he thinks she killed Chun right? He says he knows she didn't do it. He pulls her into his lap and then leads her to the bedroom, shutting the doors.
Shu is fed up with Wei. Wei is gifted beautiful furs including a particularly pretty silver fox fur. Brother helps Wei get medicine from Doctor Ye and I suspect it is contraceptive medicine.
