Heads have rolled alright...but always at the end!

Another fine episode however I'm starting to notice a trend in that many of these episodes end heavy, with the drama and heavy orchestral music....which is GREAT and it keeps me coming back for more no doubt, but I would love for some of that heaviness to make it into the middle of the episodes sometimes....because quite frankly the rock solid endings are my favorite part of the show, and I LOVE the show! Downton was down right shocking sometimes....suprisingly shocking....and very true to life in being so. I know the show is just starting out but sometimes a little less bubbly pleasantries...and a little more shockvalue in places other than the ending of the episode can be a welcome change. The Crown is a perfect example of this with these heavy little serious moments that hit like a brick threaded throughout each episode. Anyways, keep going! We love it!

Finally the harpy confronts

Warning: Spoilers
Mrs. Russell and comes out the worst for it. Great to see. Also great as always to see are the proceedings of the staff; whether duplicitous, nefarious or humorous. Mr. Russell as usual comes out on top showing his conscience despite his powers and riches. His wife despite being generous and polite is beginning to show her true intents and beginning to drive a rift between her and her spouse. Never did I think I would enjoy a show like this being more prone to action shows but the characters, settings, costumes and machinations of the people make this a must see.

Crossing the Street

This has to do with the entrenched "royals" of the old versus the upstarts. When the two scions live across the street, there is bound to be interaction. When the butler in one house goes to assist at the others, he is going to pay a price. I can't go into all the nuances. Watch the show. But the tensions building all along are really striking. Also, the Russells and their lust for power and esteem make really terrific villains.

OH...HOW I HAVE WAITED FOR THIS DAY
douglasjordane10 March 2022
NOW THE STORY IS GETTING REAL GOOD...NOTWITHSTANDING THAT I THOUGHT THE STORY WAS ALREADY PERFECT. I WANTED TO BINGE WATCH THIS WHOLE SERIES: THAT'S HOW GREAT THESE STORIES ARE DEVELOPING! HOWEVER, I WILL SAVOR EVERY CHAPTER. I DON'T WANT TO MISS OR NEGLECT ANY OF THE NUANCES OR SUBTLE PLOT TWISTS THAT WOULD OCCUR FROM SPEED-WATCHING THESE EPISODES.

LIKE A FINE CIGAR AND COGNAC; IT'S A SLOW BURN AND A RELAXING ELIXIR TO WATCH THE DECADENCE OF THIS HIGH PAGEANTRY UNFOLD. IT'S LIKE A NORTHERN VERSION OF "GONE WITH THE WIND" IN THE EMERGING 1900s WEALTH OF INDUSTRIES. THESE ARE NEW MOGULS OF RESPECTIVE CONGLOMERATES SETTLED IN NEW YORK CITY AND SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES. THE EXISTING SOCIAL NETWORK OF HIGH SOCIETY WANTS TO MAKE TROUBLE FOR THESE BOLD UPSTARTS.
