A young woman is found shot on the edge of an old quarry. New police chief Michal Trela discovers it is similar to a crime from ten years prior. His police partner Adrianna discovers her husband was having an affair the night of the murder.

Michal and Adrianna confront the quarry owner about how it is his personal assistant was murdered and why he won't delay demolition of murder scene. The mother of the woman murdered 10 years earlier is hiding some secret documents from WWII.

Michal asks the previous chief for help. A second murder is kept secret from the townspeople.

The new priest finds a bundle of notebooks hidden in the catacombs of the church which could explain a connection between the two murders ten years apart.

Kasia's mission to hide money from her father is interrupted. Trela and Ada track down and talk to Robert. Nina shares a secret with Agata.

Another murder victim turns up in the village, Agatha lays a cunning trap, Blazej suffers a setback and a Radek finds a wealthy buyer.

A new investigator takes over for Trela, who refuses to stop searching for answers. Meanwhile, Radek lawyers up and Targosz and Paszke feel the heat.

The village's dark and painful past finally comes to light as residents struggle to accept their shared history.
