After returning to England, Kate sets out with Florence to find the last missing files on her mother. However, a previously unknown adversary always seems to be one step ahead of them and is not afraid to destroy evidence and take out the people who oppose him. Meanwhile, a twist is imminent in the prosecution of Patrice Ganimana. Michael, Alice and Eunice have decided that now is the right time to reveal the truth they have guarded for years. They reveal to the public a crime that compounds the tragedy of the Rwandan genocide. In the process, the alleged heroism of the rescuers is also cast in a new light. But the Rwandan government is not willing to accept so easily that its heroes are labeled criminals. One all-important piece of evidence is still missing, however. With this new information, Kate also learns from Michael the truth about her own fate. Can she accept that she has been convinced all her life that she is someone else? And can her friendship with Michael survive such a breach of trust?
