- Morgan and Shaun's indecision on how to treat a young violinist who visits the ER with an infected finger could affect her future in more ways than one. Meanwhile, Lim, Claire and Park can't figure out if their young patient is really ill or looking for attention.
- A normal routine has started in Shaun and Lea's new apartment. Shaun has a ton of rules about how both doing and put any stuff. Lea tries to adjust her habit to Shaun's perfectionist way but anyway Shaun still spots some annoying displays. Before she leaves, Lea asked to buy a two-ply toilet paper with precise qualifications and then exactly hangs them.
Miss Kohl has a rash on her fingernail. The doctors initially assumed that is a typical bacteria-related and can be easily cured. However, Shaun thinks it is necrotizing fasciitis, dangerous flesh-eating bacteria after Kohl feels pain in the shoulder and neck. A finger amputation then is necessary. Shaun proposes a dissection in her fingertip to prove his claim and preventing Kohl from possible acute risks. Morgan is strongly objected to any treatment which could impair Kohl's dream to be a great violinist and claim it was a mild pain in the tendon.
Claire, on her first day outside Melendez's team, is dealing with a teenage girl, Riley, whose non-stop nosebleed for the last hour. Riley's parents tell Park their daughter may having sort of subconscious symptoms due to her wish to get her divorced parents back together. Riley admits that she was carelessly taking a self-identify medication for her respiratory problem that lead her nose vulnerable to bleeding.
Lea seems to start infuriated with Shaun's enormous rules because he keeps video-calling about how doing things. He is even busy discussing and looking for professional practices on how to hang a toilet paper.
Kohl is showing other symptoms that mislead Morgan's opinion. A biopsy test is taken with the result is in favor of Shaun. Melendez then led the operation of Kohl's finger.
During the treatment, Riley had felt chest pain and coughing blood. Claire and Park are arguing with each other about the condition. Claire emotionally relates to the girl that makes her curious to discover the exact cause. Meanwhile, Park tends to put himself on the perspective of Riley's parents, which means claiming no serious problem. A CT scan result is consistent with Parks, subsequently, Riley sent home. One day after, she rushed back to the hospital with a fever and difficulty breathing. Claire convinces Lim, a shadow-like in lung scan picture is the cause, thereupon, she requests to open her lungs and do depth examination.
Shaun backs home and finds the toilet paper and remote TV put in the wrong place. He lectures Lea while she is in a rush to a class. Lea gets overwhelmed and yelling at him. Lea now has no idea to deal with Shaun. She launches complaints to Glassman, who's in the middle of further medication, yet certainly ignored, at home. Glassman advises Lea, either she completely leaves him now or accepts Shaun as he is, with no expectation for a change.
Kohl is lying on the bed after surgery but suddenly her blood pressure dropped dangerously which indicates the infection was already spread. The doctors have no choice except to cut his arm right away to prevent total organ failure. Kohl wakes up after the surgery finished and hardly believes her right arm has been amputated. Morgan delivered her apologies but she keeps blamed anyway for not addressing Shaun's early warning of necrotizing fasciitis.
In another room, Lim's team is on the brink of desperation to search for something wrong in Riley's lung until they finally find a piece of Lego. It was recklessly swallowed by Riley when she was frustrating seeing her parents fought all the time. Claire had saves lives and gets praised by Melendez, though he is not good yet with Claire.
Debbie helps a lot today, from bringing Glassman a lunch to accompanying his dinner at home. Glassman suddenly falls because his foot still weak, which is already reminded by nurses. Debbie tries to help, but instead of appreciating the offer, he throws her out of the house.
Lea apologizes for the yelling and Shaun promising more flexibility in doing stuff. To avoid any further debates, Lea buys two rolls of toilet paper and hangs them differently, going over and against the wall. Shaun is happy with it.
