These slightly under 4 minutes we have here are the music video for the song Idol by South Korean band BTS and I assume this is an example for K-Pop? I am not sure. But yes I think so. director is YongSeok Choi and looking at how this video has hundreds of millions of views on Youtube, they must be pretty famous I guess. For me, this is the very first connection I have with K-Pop altogether and from what I saw and heard here, I would not be mad if it was also my last. Apparently if you can trust the imdb summary, this is supposed to be a parody to some extent of other K-Pop music, but yeah being a parody alone is not enough. I find it disappointing in terms of the song and the visual side well it's all style and over-the-top, but even if it is a prody, it is still what stays most in the mind. So all in all, this is definitely one of the worst 2018 music videos I have seen and I cannot share the praise at all. or understand why it is so popular apparently. Don't wanna draw any conclusions from this video only to K-Pop as a whole, but I am glad this one here was not even 4 minutes long and I give it a huge thumbs-down. Skip the watch and the listen.
